MjPioneer
I've been looking for a tow rig for a while now, and I have stumbled upon a cute little Mj that needs a little bit of work that I was hoping to use. Now I'm looking to tow my current Mj with another. Specs on mine are as follow (well the ones you may need to kno) 4.0 I6 5"lift 33's Not sure on exact weight at this point What I was hoping I could tow it with is a 4banger 2wd Mj completly stock Aside from the sheer size diffrence, the fact the tow rig is a 4 banger is there anything majorly important kno? Or should I just not bother with it?
Eagle
Are you talking about flat towing, or on a dolly, or on a trailer?
TNT
When towing a something that is heavier then the tow rig it can get interesting. You'll want to tow use a car trailer with brakes and the proper weight distributing hitch set-up with sway control. Trailer brakes are a must for safety as MJ brakes can't hardly stop itself much less stop when towing a load that is heavier then your tow rig is. As for using a 4cyl MJ I wouldnt do it. A LWB 4.0 with metric-ton springs would be my choice. I wouldn't want to see how bad the tail can wag the dog with a cross wind. I would recommed a 3/4 ton stick shift V8 or a Cummins long box Dodge pick-up. Extended cab models are even nicer for towing.

Dirteatr717
If it's around the block go for it but if it's say an hour or more away your better off with something a tad larger lol
