chunks6067
Can i swap in a 91 Cherokee shaft in place of my 2 piece vac disconnect shaft? if so what will i need to change? will i need to move the seal in like on the driver side, and i think i saw another support bearing in the tube of the disco shaft
mvusse
You will have to remove the entire disco system, cut a piece of steel to cover the opening with, and put an oil seal on the passenger side of the differential. Standard seal will not work. The correct seal is mentioned somewhere (page 13?) of my build thread.
Pete M
Or just shim the fork over to engage the cad all the time.
chunks6067
sweet! removing sounds easier than adding. Thanks ill look at your build writeup again as i am sure i have read it once before
chunks6067
Or just shim the fork over to engage the cad all the time. I wanted to do this but the PO had already tried to run it in 4wd with a bad vacuum pressure and the collar was not fully engaged and ate most of the splines off the inner half shaft
mvusse
Also one piece shafts using the stronger/larger u joints are a dime a dozen. Two piece shafts with them were only ever available on the 95 YJ. Good luck finding one of those in a jy.
