would a xj 4cyl tc fit a mj 6cyl?

If transfercase, what year is the 6 cyl and is it stick or auto?

its on a 87 xj 4cyl 4 speed manual.

we need to know which 5 speed you have because 89 was a cross-over year.

if you have the puegot then yes it will fit

if you have the AX15 then no it will not fit.

It will not fit.

 

The 4 cylinder manual transmissions (AX-4/5) used a long shaft input on the transfercase. Pukey and AX-15 need a short shaft.

ok well does the belhousing match between the 2 then. is it stamped on the tranny,antidisestablishmentarianism kinda tranny it is?

4 cylinder and 6 cylinder bell housings are NOT compatible.
