88pioneer
Still dealing with my non running 92, and a lot of people have said check the CPS, but i was wondering what it actually does. Yes i know, crank position sensor, and yes i know its on the bell housing, but what am i checking for, and what does it do? I'm sure theres a connection to my problem, but i can't figure that part out
freakjeep93
i believe it tells the ignition sensor when to fire and whatnot. I'm not really sure I'm just going on what ive learned on the forum
Geonovast
It reads indentations in the flywheel to tell the ECU when the pistons are in the correct position to open the injectors and ignite the coil. If the CPS is bad, the ECU will think the motor isn't spinning, and therefore won't turn on fuel or spark = no start. You can check the resistance with a multimeter, it should read between 125 and 275 ohms.
88pioneer
well at least now i have somewhat of an idea. Thats not my problem, cause mine starts and runs, just won't stay running.

88pioneer
it only ran a few seconds, but now its fixed, TPS was bad
one_bad_MJ
spray brake cleaner down in the CPS hole while off and running to clean off your pickups on your flywheel just to be safe when your RMS leaks oil and $#!& flys all over the mag pickups and causes it to misfire and whatnot. and sometimes not start.
