Will a front axle from an 86 Cherokee fit on a 90 Comanche?

Both 4X4.

I don't know anything about the Cherokee yet. Haven't seen it.

It'll fit. Gear ratios might give you headaches.

Don't try to use rotors, hubs or calipers off the 90 on the 86 axle. They aren't the same. If you use the 86 axle, it'll bolt right in but you have to use hubs, rotors and brake parts for the year of the axle, not for the year of the chassis.

could be worse, I've got 97 unit bearings, 97 rotors and 90 calipers

functionally the 86 axle should be the same. it may have CV joints that suck, but you can replace those with the inners and outers for u-joints. You might even be able to use the ones from the wrecked axle if they're not damaged.

I believe that 2001 was the only year they didn't. All MJs have em.

I knew some MJ's had them, I didn't know all MJ's did. 8)
