JeepcoMJ Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 my pass. window glass in the split rear on my '90 mj is shattered...anyone have a good idea for me to replace it without having to pull the whole slider frame out? ...I can't do that until it's warmer because the glue would never dry (however I do have the skills and knowledge to do that so please keep the tech in reference to the actual question)
Wildman Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Your going to have to wait for warmer weather then....... You'll need to pull the whole slider out, because the glass is set in the frame with a U-gasket, and the frame is then put together and the corners pinched. Glue......what glue :dunno: You talking about the urethane sealant??? You can get some quick set that will set-up in 20 minutes, and cure in 45 minutes for setting the slider unit back in.

Wildman Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 You could go with the heated Urethane :brows: http://www.crlaurence.com/crlapps/showl ... elID=43957 You can't pull this in your garage for a half hour :hmm:
MJ is dead Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Not to post-jack too much, but its a sliding window question. My new MJ has a sliding rear window, but the clip that holds the slider in place broke off before I owned it. It looks like it chipped the glass a little. Can the clip be replaced or am I looking for a new window? Have a redneck fix for now. Piece of 3/4" wood painted black and 3M'ed in place. Keeps the thieves out :D
JeepcoMJ Posted February 15, 2010 Author Posted February 15, 2010 it can be replaced, but it's somewhat hard to find.
MJ is dead Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 Hmmm maybe I'll head to the stealership tomorrow, then maybe the glass shoo
fiatslug87 Posted February 15, 2010 Posted February 15, 2010 The latch is part number 83503323, I've always heard they were no longer available so I never checked the dealer. Let us know if you get one.
