GATOR88 Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 yep my tranny leaks like a stuck pig gear oil every wear i think it might be a bearing,bushing or seal i was leaving melbourne fl to go back home to georgia and 4 to 5 hours into the ride i stoped fer gas and a big ole puddle sittin under it :headpop: :headpop:
Pete M Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 which trans? is it coming from the front of the trans or the rear? and are you sure it's not a puddle of engine oil coming from the rear main seal? I ask only because what you experienced is very rare. just want to be certain. :thumbsup:
Shandley Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 I had a leaky rear seal in my tranny because of a worn universal joint in my drive shaft. About an hours work and I had a much smoother ride and no leaks. Later on that year, I had a main seal on my engine go. That required pulling the tranny but while it was out, I did the front seal of the tranny as well as the main on my engine. The rear tranny seal is a breeze!
GATOR88 Posted December 8, 2009 Author Posted December 8, 2009 its real thick fluid black coming from the bell of the tranny and when i was driving i heard a cracking noise the fluid isnt motor oil its to thick its gear oil
