Shandley
Greetings to all. I am getting my hands on a DRB-II scanner for my Jeep tomorrow. Has anyone used one before? I hear it is easy to use but I wouldn't know where to start (yes yes.. hook it up to start, I know). I am getting it from a family member who works at a dealership. He says that he has all of the hardware and the cartridge for my Jeep. I do not get a manual with it so any advice for those who have used one would we greatly appreciated. I cannot seem to find anything online except for people tweaking their imports. I only get it for one full day but something tells me it will be the best day of my Jeep's life. jeepdoggydogB
Is your truck HO or RENIX? For an HO I tested the engine and emissions data, just follow the old school menu (numbers not icons)menu to get there. I used it to see if my IAC and TPS were working within the spec voltage. azscott
On the Renix 4.0 it is also straightforward...the menu prompts you all the way through. It even has a help function you can press mid stream to tell you what to do. I played with mine by scrolling through the menu's and seeing what each did..also which functions are active. On the Renix only about half of the tests are active. The main value to me was being able to do the engine test...and being able to see rwal time all of the sensors and how each was operating. To do the TPS calibration via the DRB-II you will need a special probe...I did not have one with mine..but if you have a kit from a dealer you will have it. I wish i had the probe as the method that people always tell you to do here is not the prefereed method in the maual and mine will idle high if I do the short cut method. Shandley
Oh really? I know mine is out of whack. Do you know how the TPS calibration is done?

1986Comanche
It's a RENIX. How did you know what the spec voltage is? Here's a page on how to diagnose the sensors and it gives the voltage specs. This page is for the 4.0L, but a lot of the sensors are the same. I hope this info helps. http://www.lunghd.com/Tech_Articles/Eng ... ostics.htm

I think the link that 1986comanche provided is the best on yet for RENIX systems.
