SchneiderFishing
I've been thinking about replacing the radiator in my 1990 4.0 Automatic. Anybody with any specific recommendations?
maddzz1
I just ordered one yesterday from radiatorbarn.com $130 shipped with metal tanks
HOrnbrod
Tried the 3-cores, 2-cores, the all aluminum single core worked by far the best to keep my stroker cool along with the Hesco hi-flow pump. It's bolt-in for open and closed systems, and has the bung hole for the Renix temp sensor. Been four years now, still all is well. http://www.alumrad.com/dblpass.html The Jeep Cherokee model #9168
SchneiderFishing
Would you recommend the open or closed system for my 1990 Renix. Currently the previous owner put in an open system but I've been having problems so I'm thinking about going to a closed system as was the original design. 1987Comanche
E-bay. I picked up a new rad for $67 and converted my '90 4.0L to an open system. Mine leaked at the rad and the old pressure bottle so the conversion was a no brainer for me. No change in temp, operation, or anything else except lack of leakage :)

I replaced all the hoses, and eliminated the heater control valve. Plumbed the heater core direct (only two hoses now there), and capped the vacuum line. LEAD_NOT_FOLLOW
I run CSF 3-cores in all our jeeps and have been very happy with them.

HOrnbrod
Lack of price on that page scares me. :D AFAIR, it was about $130 shipped. (& I bet you thought about polishing it to a chrome like finish before installing it. ) Didn't just think about it, I DID it! :D Only you can't see how shiny it is because it's covered by the support bracket. But I know it's there. 8)
