Nope, that's a ventilation line. Engine vaccume. Just tape it back together and get one at the junk yard next time you go.

 

All those lines get really brittle and snap like that, be careful moving them in the future...

For reference -- the 4.0L does not have a PCV.

I see that it has a CCV

Correct.

 

And the CCV system is a pair of open tubes. "PCV" typically implies a PCV valve -- which you won't find on a Jeep 4.0L engine. (I'm not convinced that was a good design decision, but it is what it is.)

Ok so new problem. I was driving to school after getting onto 355 there was a bad grinding sounds. So I baby'ed it to school while getting off 355 on to army trail I got to hit brakes pedal hits the floor but if I pump it enough times it will stop and if I push it all th way it stop bearly

Start by opening the top on the master cylinder. There are two chambers. See if one of them is empty. The big chamber feeds the front brakes, the smaller chamber feeds the rear brakes. Once you figure out which end lost brakes, start tracing lines until you find where one popped.

:hijack: that same hose on my 4.0 is blowing oil out, so i just need to re-place the CCV?
