ahmincha Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 just wondering does any one know if a 2.5 out of a 95 wrangler will fit in a 86 comanche
Eagle Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 Physically -- yes. It's the same engine. However, the '86 has the older Renix throttle body injection system (and corresponding ignition), and the 95 Wrangler has the newer Mopar multi-port injection (and corresponding ignition). If you're willing to swap over the woring and keep the newer MPFI, it's worth several horsepower and makes it a much more driveable package.
Geonovast Posted November 9, 2009 Posted November 9, 2009 I've seen it said both ways...but Doesn't the 2.5 have the same port alignment differences between Renix and 91+ as the 4.0 does?
ahmincha Posted November 10, 2009 Author Posted November 10, 2009 thanks for the reply i want to use renix and original wiring and ignition this is just a truck i use to plow my drive and run around in don't want to get to crazy on this one I'm in the middle of converting my f450 from gas to diesel need a easy one next so I'm taking it that my old accessories will work on the 95
Rockyrider367 Posted November 10, 2009 Posted November 10, 2009 Everything will swap over fine. My 86 has a 94 2.5 in it now.
