weird sound

well today we took the truck out and reverse was working fine and the last hole on the way out of the woods we got stuck

so i put it in 4lo and tryed reverseing out the tires just spun same thing going forward so i used the winch to get out when i got out i went to put bak in 2wd and went to reverse and it like start virbrate real bad and dosent go no wear but if u just let it idle it will reverse fine at idle but wil not doing any thing when u give it gad???? :huh???:

when u put it in reverse it goes in u can feel lunge backwards when u let off the brake but when u give it gas nothing happens just revs up and like vibrates it hard to explain

I understood that last post just fine,what people are saying is,post as if you are doing a term paper,not texting your girlfriend. Lots of people on this board are more than willing to help,It's just we need to communicate in language that can be understood. Personally,I don't "Text".

oh ok well the problem is that when it goes into to reverse it just revs up and vibrates and goes barely backwards

I think you still may want to go the the transmission shop. I don't know much about automatic transmissions, but it sounds like reverse is going out. Either a rebuild or a replacement.

 

Let's hope I'm wrong and it's something simple.

idk cuz it use to do it when u would first crank it up but if u would let it sit and run for a min it would work with no problems but it didnt vibrate like it does now. :shake:

Probably because the trans had to warm up, it was on the verge of failure. Now, after an offroad thrashing, its finally gave up the ghost.

Just to rule out the obvious, you did check the transmission fluid level, right?

yes trans fluid is full.

Well it seems to be the transfer case cause that wear it seem to making some noise from i don't havent had time to take to the shop. :ack:

well i got a price today to rebuild it and was told $800.00 :(
