Need help finding a manual.

I'm trying to find a link or electronic copy of the electrical troubleshooting manual for an 1989 cherokee. Looks like below with the exception of having 1989 on it. I guess maybe one in the same era would work, but they always seem to change a wire color here and there.

I have the FSM so don't bother with that. The above manual is what I really need. Thanks for any help.

I just looked, and I have the '87 and the '88 Electrical Troubleshooting Manuals.

And their both 60 Series manuals.

Would the '88 be of any help??

I don't have a "electronic" copy of it, I got the book itself, it's kind of massive with fold out pages and 102 pages.

Is there a section that you were looking for, where I could scan a couple pages and PM them to you :dunno:

So now you have me thinking that I may be looking for the wrong one. From my searches, I thought all Electrical Troubleshooting manuals in the 60 series were for the comanche and the 70 series is for the cherokee. Is this right or is there a 60 and 70 series for both. :dunno:

It also seems that the ones I've seen are broken down into 87-88 with 89 falling into the next group. This kind of makes me think they changed things a little. I know using the general 88 FSM, I've had problems with different wire colors.

I have the one for the 88 comanche that I picked up from someone on here in pdf format. It's been scanned in and I can't make out the series number on it.

I've got the 89 on paper... I MIGHT even have it here if you need a specific part. I can't scan it, but my camera takes okay pictures. Let me know if you want me to look.

The 88 manual should be mostly the same.

Thanks but what I'm after would be a lot of trouble if you haven't already scanned it. Basically, what I'm doing is putting together a DIY with color codes, connector #'s, and pictures for using a cherokee engine and dash harness with the comanche cab and rear harness. The troubleshooting manual is without a doubt the best thing for this. It took me about 30 minutes to have all of the wires and connectors labeled and pinned out for the comanche harness using it's manual. Yes I could have traced them all out but for the cherokee dash harness that's a little impractical and a PITA.

Right now I'm waiting to hear back from a guy that has the 88 one and I hope he doesn't want to much for it. :redX:

He should not Paul. I got some stuff from him quite awhile ago, and the price was very reasonable.

This is the book I have -

From looking thru it, it's mostly Comanche (60 Series) but, it also shows connector configurations and locations for the XJ........IE: C311: Liftgate to liftgate (ground) / In LH side of liftgate.........well we know the MJ don't have a liftgate :hmm:

This book is very detailed, how close to the '89 :dunno: I don't think there is too much change from '88 -'89........Oh, yea, the C101 connector was omitted. Would that have a major affect for what your doing??

Find out what your other deal is, I have no problem "loaning" you this book, there is no way I'm going to scan this whole book. I know where you live, so if you want to borrow it, I know I will not need/use it in the near future, But, I do want to hang on to it in the future, and if you want to copy pages that you want to keep, that's up to you.

That's the one I have electronically.

I can't remember the thread on here that linked to it but if anyone needs it, I can email it to them or if someone has the thread and can post the link that would be best.

That book is great and your right it does point out some cherokee stuff, however the main thing I need is the pinouts for the cherokee specific stuff. I'm going to be using some of that stuff for some gadgets so I need as much info that I can get. I'm probably getting the 88 one but I'm waiting on some additional data from the seller. I'll scan that one somewhere in the future and offer it up too.
