Renix High output can anyone explain this one?

Recommended Posts

I was looking over my girlfriend's 4.0 Grand Cherokee today and noticed something strange. The intake manifold has a plate where the EGR valve would be on a renix, but has a High output throttle body. I thought the HO throttle body doesn't bolt to a renix intake manifold...?

The EGR valve was deleted in '93 or '94.

From your pictures, it looks like someone make a deletion plate for where the EGR would have been.

The only way to be sure, pull the air boot off the TB, 3 bolts = Renix. 4 bolts = HO.

The Grand Cherokee was introduced in 1993 (actually late 1992, as a 1993 model). The last Renix models were the 1990 model year. Unless someone did a major swap, there ain't no such critter as a Renix Grand Cherokee.

there is a bracket that bolts there on an HO it holds the fuel lines out of harms way.

(working on an intake swap to late model stuff so i've been all over HOs scavenging parts lately.)

also spy the lack of a fuel line at the back of the fuel rail, renix would have one at the back of the motor and one up front after the regulator, HO they both come in the front.

Looks like someone bolted up a renix mainfold to a H.O motor, are you sure it's a H.O throttle body I doubt it and I believe it is EGR block off plate.

it's a H.O. throttle body, and there is NO EGR located there. it is simply a mounting bracket that drops down to mount the fuel lines to.

that is a regular 1995-mid1999 intake manifold.
