richfactor Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 How hard is it to replace the ball joints? I can rent the tools at autozone, and just wondering how to go about replacing them?
Kernel Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 not hard if you have the right tool. just takes time because you need to take everything apart.
richfactor Posted August 17, 2006 Author Posted August 17, 2006 I'm going to attempt it today, got a manual printout. $50 for all 4 joints is a lot cheaper than the $625 the shop quoted me, lol crackheads.
Kernel Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 soak them with bp blaster or something makes it easier.
Stumpy Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 soak them with bp blaster or something makes it easier. hehe it think thats a jeeper's motto..lol

richfactor Posted August 18, 2006 Author Posted August 18, 2006 Finished replaciong the ball joints at 11:30 last night. What a f-in b*@$£ So I got those done, but when putting it all back together I ran into to a problem. The outer tie-rod end had a stripped bolt so I couldnt get that back on. Now it's time to replace that. Luckily I have a cherokee in the backyard for spare parts.
