TNT
So who is into home /shop audio and what do you have? My shop has a Yamaha RX-870 5.1 dolby reciever which supplys 85 watts to the front and center channels and 25 watts to the rear surround channels. Cd's are handled by a a Sony 400 disc changer. The front speakers Polk, Pioneer and KLH book shelf speakers. The center channel has a B.I.C. speaker and an Aiwi speaker. The rear has 2 pairs of KLH speakers and a pair of Aiwa speakers. Bass is handled by a 75amp 12V power inverter supplying power to a JBL7001 amp which supplys 700 watts to a pair of 12" Sony subs wired at 2 ohms in a 1.5 cu,ft sealed sub box. I have an Onkyo AV Receiver digital/analog 6.1 dolby TX-SR600it has 80 watts RMS x 6 into 8 ohms or 115watts RMS x 6 at 6 ohms. This is going to be my living room system once I find a bunch of good speakers, a HD DVD player and a Blue-Ray disc player. It won't need a CD changer because my computer or the DVD can handle that. I jam to music in the shop, this is for movies and limited music use. So are any of you into home audio? More important is do you have any home stereo stuff you aren't using and want to sell? I need to build one more system thats not as wild, but could be, so let me know what you got.
WahooSteeler
as much as i'd hate to sell it, it's all in boxes and likely not to get all hooked up again, my yamaha "home theatre in a box" receiver with a radio shack speaker selector worked well enough at my last house with ceiling speakers in the dining room, a pair out on the deck and then the surround sound. point being, whenever i get around to putting in a deck or patio at my current house i'll probably go the same route. soo...if you are interested in any of the following, I'd be willing to deal. Hafler DH220 amp - I believe 110w x 2 @8ohms, but as I recall that was a conservative rating; can be bridged to 300 x 1 IIRC Hafler 100 pre-amp Adcom brick - I'd actually have to go look at the box for the model number, I wanna say it was rated at 200-250 x 2, bridged to 600..BEAST! Nakamichi RX-202 cassette deck....that's right, cassette. This model was auto reverse, but instead of the heads moving, it literally had a tray that popped out, spun the cassette around and re-loaded it. Theory was that moving heads eventually became misaligned and lost sound quality. If anything, #1 all time coolness factor in a piece of home audio equipment, and it sounded great. Nice recording features. Nakamichi CD player - single disc Technics MK1200II pro DJ turntable......ahhh, the good ole days of cueing up vinyl; magnetic braking, full speed or dead stop in 1/4 turn Bose 901's.....these I might have a hard time parting with, but money talks; need to be re-coned, but I have the replacement kit let me know. granted it all has some age on it, but has been mostly boxed up for years and all in very good to excellent condition IMO
Automan2164
In the garage, I have a busted walmart stereo I "borrowed" from my girlfriend. Takes a little shuffling sometimes to get the tunes right, but every once and awhile, I plug in the MP3 player in the car radio, and broadcast it to the wallyworld stereo. :dunno: Gets me by. Rob L. dasbulliwagen
I have an RCA DVD home theatre system hooked up in my MATCO two bay top and bottom tool box at work. I have the subwoofer mounted to the side of my box, and the speakers double taped to the inside of the top cover. When I hook up my laptop to it, I can actually play movies or streaming audio through the system, or play DVD's or CD's, MP3 etc... and it will all lock inside the top of my box! I don't have a garage at home yet, but when I do, ypu can be sure Ill have a system in it!
WahooSteeler
Tim, let me pull the boxes out and inspect everything and then PM you with what I feel would be a fair price on each. I can't believe you didn't want the cassette deck...... :brows:

I can't believe you didn't want the cassette deck...... :brows: The cassette is very cool but I don't own even 1 cassette tape to use with it. I could get one tape just to show how cool it is to my friend but that is about it. The price would have to be really good Check out what you have and we can finish up from here using PM's. WahooSteeler
LOL! I was just kidding about the cassette deck. If someone wanted to buy it, I'd sell it, but it will be fun to keep and play some of my old DJ tapes just for kicks sometimes.

SuperWade2
I need an upgrade... I have a few year old cheapy Onkyo HTIB (home theater in a box) and only have the center and front 2 speakers connected... I'm wanting a new receiver that will do all the 1080P HDMI switching (at least 4 HDMI inputs and would prefer 6) and Composite and component upconverting to 1080p....Once I upgrade my HDTV (Current 42" 720p Sony LCD is about 4 years old now) I'll look at upgrading as well. Most likely go with a wall mounted soundbar for thing front under the wall mounted plasma (52-56") and something wall mounted for the rear. I'm trying to talk the wife into letting me block off the regular door and window to our downstairs guest room, bust a new door thru the living room wall and setting up a "real" multi seat theater, but I don't see that happening SW2

Everybody must have overlooked it... It was on my watch list and I was 10 minutes late. They sell for some great prices and have the full waranty.
