Non-HO 4.0L: What are the 2 small hoses in airbox lid?

Recommended Posts

I bought a Rusty's knockoff airtube, and it only had the fittings for the 2 main air hoses. What are the other two (small) lines in the lid, and is there any way to supply them with air without tapping the tube for these hoses? Is it easiest to just buy some "HELP" fittings and drill the tube?

one of them is for the vacuum the little door thing in the front of the stock airbox that opens and closes drawing warm air from the exh manifold. no big deal most don't work anyway. and I'm thinkin maybe the other is for the egr solenoid. I'm really not sure on the last one so don't quote me.

So the one to the "door" gets yanked when the airbox bottom comes out.

And I just cap the other one? It does seem to go to some sort of solenid.
