mjeff87
Wife and I took a quick getaway weekend down to Colonial Williamsburg, and spent most of Saturday at Busch Gardens. We finally got to get a ride (several, in fact) on the newest coaster, Griffon. It is a BEAST and if you're a coaster junkie you definately need to put it on your to-ride list. Floorless dive coaster, 205 ft drop @ 90 degrees, over 70 mph....not the fastest coaster in the world, but not having a floor makes 70 feel alot more than it is  http://www.griffoncoaster.com/ Jeff we also got a personal tour of the Clydesdale stables and got to try to hold an 18.3 hand horse still while they tried to take pictures of us......not sure which was more exciting, the coaster or the horse.... mjeff87
you don't have time to hurl....... I did let out a very loud explative on the first drop (they nose the train over the edge of the drop and hold you all there at about 70 degrees for about 5 seconds, then unlock it and you go flying). My usual is to sing the Flintstones song.....don't ask why, me and my wife/friends have been doing it for years on big first drops.........but the only sound I could muster on this one was oh SH##############T! My wife was mute. Jeff

WahooSteeler
I love coasters, but not sure if I could handle that first drop. Last time I was there the line was too long to even try to get my nads ready for it. My favorite coaster of all time is at Busch Gardens, Alpinegeist. IMO it is the smoothest most enjoyable ride. Floorless also, nice corkscrews, cars swing independent, fairly fast. My wife and I both cuss like crazy on coasters, just can't help it. The Loch Ness Monster is still fun, but after the Alpinegeist you realize how jerky it is. What's the other one there Jeff, Apollo's Chariot? Restraint system is just a triangle pressed in to your waist, basically an open car. I feel like I'm gonna fall out when that goes down the first drop. mfpdm
I'm just the opposite, I don't like Alpinegeist because of the corkscrews. :ack: I'm not scared of it and don't barf, but I do not feel great after that one. Apollo's Chariot is my favorite. Only way to ride it is in the front row to get the full experience. My son and I trick my wife in riding it. I thought we killed her. She won't step foot on it again however see loves Alpinegeist  I got to ride the Griffon once last year. It's very smooth and it goes so fast that you really can't tell what it's doing. After the hour and a half wait, I felt cheated. And if corkscrews are your thing, try this one. and it's twin.
