Ford Ranger techs

Looking for someone who works on Rangers, a LOT.

 

I know how smart Jeep was when they made it so easy to swap a ax5 for a aw4, but by chance was FORD as smart with the Ranger :hmm: I love my Ranger but with my new trailer I have to shift all the time and wish I had an auto in it more then ever now :ack: Sure hope it's the same as doing the MJ :drool:

From what little experience I have working of Fords, nothing is ever easy with those things.

If I could find a no rust MJ with a supercab that was as solid as the day it drove off the factory floor that I could buy for around $1,000 I would :yes: But I will only get that deal in my dreams :(

99-04 WJ

05+ WK

 

Remember, earlier model V8 ZJs came with a 318 :cheers:

And yes I know about the 318 :brows: We have a 95 ZJ with a 318 that is my wifes. I have been trying to talk her into getting something else and give it to me to tow with :yes: but not much luck :(

 

She is giving me crap about taking it for a drive with the trailer to see how it pulls it :wall:

ive owned a few rangers. auto to manual swap is easy, man to auto swap is a pita since they used different pcms. check out www.rangerpowersports.com/forum when it works lol

Everything I have found is the Auto to manual swap.

 

From what I have found out is trans, PCM, steering column and linkage :wall: What I do not know is if the wiring, t-case computer,Cruise cont unit, memory unit and tempture unit needs also needs to be changes also :doh:

 

Looks like I am going to have to replace my Ranger :(
