SchneiderFishing
What all is involved with swapping out an instrument cluster in a 1990 Comanche. Currently I have the one with the big fuel gauge and the idiot lights for temp. oil, etc. I'd like one with regular tach, oil pressure, etc. Thanks for your help. Eagle
Find a cluster from an 87-1/2 thru 90 XJ or MJ, and bolt it in. Replace the temperature sending unit on the back left corner of the head and the oil pressure sending unit with the ones for gauges, and you're done. SchneiderFishing
What about the tach?
johnnyc
What about the tach? It's already pre-wired. No need to do anything.

Read^ Your truck isnt the electronic speedo, so you need to find a cable driven one.
64 Cheyenne
Make sure your speedo cable is the same, where it hooks up in the back of the cluster. If it isn't,be sure to grab the speedo cable from the vehicle that you got the cluster off of. A good example is in my thread of my build. I just finished this swap last weekend. viewtopic.php?f=7&t=13953
Tomahawked
Wrecking yards are full of them around my neck of the woods. If you don't find anything, I could probably be pursuaded to grab one next time I am pulling parts.
