jtdesigns Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 My air box is kinda deformed.. I feel like the air filter doesnt seal up good.. I noticed on my xj the air box is a bit stiffer and has more density.. Will the newer boxes fit my older lid, i mean will my older lid fit on the newer boxes?? I put a clothes hanger to kinda keep my from spreading apart, but it still kinda sucks, and is warped... Any suggestions?

Geonovast Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Shouldn't be too hard to find a new box, I have two of them sitting around. 88 4.0 XJ and 93 2.5 XJ, I'm pretty sure they're the same.
Ed in North Ga. Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 after replacing mine, deformed from heat- I wrapped it. I got a roll of aluminumized tape and wrapped the entine bottom of the clamshell, and removed the cold air/ hot air diverter- keeps the box mighty cool, and hasent deformed yet.
