lostissues
i have 2 sets of doors, one in good condition, and one in less then ok, i plan on making the poo ones into half doors, the thing is that the poo ones have vented teardrop windows the other does not. my question is can you swap the vent windows? or is there something special about the door frame? is there any way to make it work? thanks, Jonathan

Eagle
Yes, they interchange, but you have to swap out the entire front triangle, including the glass, frame, surround, and the front track for the main window. IMHO it's not worth it. The operable vents always leak. I have 'em on my '88 XJ (paid extra for leaky windows!), I don't have 'em on any of the MJs, and I don't miss them. The ones on the XJ have been glued shut for years.
Pete M
Ever since the A/C died, I started to like my vent windows. Flipping them out seems to provide the most air flow into the cab. But then again, the drivers side leaked considerably and eventually I glued it shut. I do intend to replace it with another, but then I also plan to rip out that awful carpet and just line the floor, so there's no further risk of water getting trapped under the carpet. Oizarod115
i always liked the idea of this swap, my brothers XJ has them and ive never seen/heard of them leaking but since most people seem to have problems (and my work is hardly up to factory-spec) i doubt i would it
