Bumpstick Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 I'm looking for a cheap replacement muffler... The pipes look good, little surface rust but still good but the muffler well its blown out, completely shot. Just wanting a cheap fix not looking for HP gains or a loud exhaust. What do i need to know to put a replacement in there?

Giffer Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 i went with a cherry bomb turbo on my YJ. did the whole exaust my self with 2.5 and it cost me around $50 CDN. i love the sound.

jpnjim Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 FWIW, by using an offset in/offset out muffler, flipped onto it's side, I was able to use a straight piece of pipe as a tailpipe (instead of getting a U-bent tailpipe around the rear axle).: I used a cheap, made in China, FM knockoff (Thrush welded). Flanges weren't sized right, so I can't really recommend it. Sounds OK for a non-daily driver tho.
WyoCherokee Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 ive just got a magnaflow off the shelf at advanced auto. not loud at all but has an ok tone. I'm sure it helps it breath better
