Do I need to put that black tarpaper thing back down? And I just vacuum it up, and put down some rust converting paint right? garmj Posted February 6, 2009 Share Posted February 6, 2009 Do yourself a favor and pull up that foam and rubber on the drivers side and see if there is rust around the fuse block and pedal area. Then grind,wirebrush and sand all rusted areas use rust convertor and apply a roll on bed liner to the area involved. Treating the underside aint a bad idea too. Image Not Found See above. Pete M Posted February 7, 2009 Share Posted February 7, 2009 I would not recommend a "rust converting paint". Many of those won't actually do anything. Look into a product called POR-15. It's a ceramic coating that fuses to the rust/steel and blocks out the oxygen. :thumbsup: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
garmj Posted February 8, 2009 Share Posted February 8, 2009 Actually what I was referring to was POR-15 or another one called Os-Pho they turn the rust into a sealed and paintable surface.
