jeepaholic Posted January 18, 2009 Author Share Posted January 18, 2009 I tried everything i had in the garage :dunno: ..man bad wknd for jeep work..can't find those bolts..one of the clutch bolts wouldnt come out ended up rounding it off..had to grind it off..now have to pull the prsr plate to drill and tap it..I quit after that..decided to call it a wknd. :fs1: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

bn6339 Posted January 19, 2009 Share Posted January 19, 2009 According to some PDF factory parts breakdowns, the bolt size is dependent on the year- 1991-93 shows a M10x1.50x34 (pn 6502 442) 1994-96 shows a M10x1.25x34 (pn 6503 299) Not completely sure why there's a difference, as when I looked at my spare 1991 trans it was the second size....I would be most judicious when dealing with aluminum....if you can find either a thread gauge or a tap (which is what I used)or a sample bolt would be best....stripping the housing would be a rather expensive ouch!
