xj_dummy
My clutch master cylinder was leaking so I went ahead and changed it out with a new one. According to the Haynes manual, it says that first I remove the external slave cylinder, insert a socket and a c clamp then bleed the system like brakes. 1. Do I really have to remove the slave cylinder to bleed it? Or can I just bleed it with it installed and NOT remove it. 2. If I have to remove the slave cylinder, how do you remove the top nut that is close to the transmission hump? I can't get a socket or a standard wrench on it. fiatslug87
When I changed the clutch master cylinder in my '90 I didn't remove the slave, but mine is an internal slave (AX-15) and there is a bleeder screw at the transmission. Come to think of it my '88 Peugeot trans also has the same bleeder set up. What transmission do you have? EDIT: I just saw you have the 2.5L, I don't know anything about that set up. So here's a BUMP for you.
Pete M
Early MJ AX-5s were external, Later were internal.
