replacement slave cyl, 86 manche

i got my replacement slave cyl in today,

i noticed it came with a rubber seal around it all ready,

you can see it in this pic (not my tranny tho)

 

do i take that rubber seal off? and put the seal with the engaging rod on?

or do i leave it on, and put the other seal over top?

That picture looks backwards to me for some reason.. You think you can pull the seal off your old rod and put the rod into the new one?

thats what i was thinking,

if you meant taking off the new seal and putting on the old seal and rod,

 

and now that i look at it,

that pic looks like some sorta modded clutch housing?

I have no idea what that picture is, but it is a custom set-up for something... :hmm:

 

Anyway...with the external slave, there should be nothing to do but unbolt the old one and put in the new one. No swapping of parts of any kind should be needed.

the picture is just a reference to the black seal,

which doesnt fit my slave cyl rod,

so i think ima have to use my old seal for this 1
