Jerry
I know what it looks like, I know how it works and I know what it does but I don't know what it's called in Canadian speak! I went to Lordco and the guy behind the counter couldn't help. I even drew him a sketch! Can any one in tech land help me? On my 2.8 V6 - There is a little air powered widget on the front of the engine by the carburetter that opens the throttle and accelerates the engine a little when you turn the steering wheel so the power steering doesn't stall the motor if your idling, what's it called? I call things like this an "Actuator" but that got me nowhere. I need to buy a new one as mine is seized and can only get it if the bloke in Lordco knows what I'm talking about! Thanks guys
HOrnbrod
Pretty sure you are referring to the throttle solenoid, p/n 83502116.

Jerry
hmmmm? I'm still drawing blanks at Lordco so I've removed it for a pic. Is this definitely a throttle solenoid? It's appears to be vacuum driven.
BLHTAZ
The part you have pictured is called a Throttle Actuator and is part number 83501026. Unfortunately, discontinued by Chrysler... The part number that Don posted is a similar part, but it's for a 2.5L engine, not the 2.8L ;)
Jerry
Oooooookay (said in a slightly concerned & bemused tone). So 'Oh' founts of MJ knowledge    Where might I go from here? Are there any sources of discontinued parts? Is my only choice a used part? Could I get a unit that is similar and make it fit? Thanks guys
BLHTAZ
I tried a couple aftermarket resources that I know of including Rock Auto, but come up with nothing. You may be left with trying to find a used one that still works. :wall:
