89' need help with motor shock

My bro has an 89' Comanche Pioneer with a 2.5L 4 cyl. At the front of the motor on the passenger side is a shock that goes from the timing chain cover to the frame. This shock is totally worn out and it lets the motor vibrate. Does anyone know the official name of this shock or where I can buy one? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

They have been discontinued, but there are still 9 of them available out of Detroit. If you/he wish to spend $100 at a dealership...it can still be ordered.

A SHOCK ON THE MOTOR, WHAT IS THE PURPOSE?

I think its more of a dampener. It keeps the engine from shaking the chassis.

It's actually called an "Engine Vibration Dampener" or an "Engine Shock Absorber Package" ...
