k&n air filtration system

i need something to replace everything, not just a filter. Airraid doesnt make a kit that will work on my mj.

 

 

You should be able to pick up the whole stock assembly out of an XJ for around $25 from a junk yard.

Um...hate to repeat myself again...but XJ and MJ intake systems, much as everything under the hood are IDENTICAL year for year.

 

A 4.0L HO designed air intake is not going to work on a Renix 4.0, bottom line, XJ or MJ.

 

this says is for 91-01 cherokee's but i don't see why it wouldnt wokr with my 89?

I actually installed an airbox off of a 2000 XJ, so judging by that it should be fine. I think it's just the clips that are different, as the bottom section of those boxes on 87-90 are different than 91+, XJ or MJ. At least in my experience.

AmsOil has a drop in for the stock XJ box not sure if its the same to the MJ and its is Dryflow filter.. no oil needed like the AEM dryflow filters.. I have one,, and its great..

 

XJ and MJ airboxes are the same. How is the flow in comparison to stock, though?

No idea, but I would assume as I mentioned the only difference being the bottom of the box. So if that's it, you could do what I did and pick one up off a 91+ 4.0 at a junkyard and go from there.
