robfg67
4WD engages but the part time light does not turn on. I checked the bulb and its fine. I visually inspected the colored vacuum lines (still wrapped in the factory black plastic loom) coming off the NP 231 and they look surprisingly clean for 20 years old. The blue line just dead ends at a black connector near the passenger side fire wall. I looked in the general area to see what would attach to the other end but didn’t find anything. Can someone suggest a course of action to get my light back on?
ComancheKid45
I havethe same line that "just ends" but my Part Time light works normally most of the time but i don't think that line is your issue an haveno idea what it is...
robfg67
That's too bad-I thought I found the problem.
BLHTAZ
That is just an Air Vent Valve/Filter. It is supposed to be like that and is simply a one way vent for the vacuum motor on the axle. Your issue has got to be electrical and may be the switch on the axle itself that is bad. Personally...I have disconnected that switch on both of our Jeeps so that irritating light will not come on as I know when it's in 4WD and don't need that light irritating me telling me about it ;) . robfg67
Brent, I can't explain it, but I'm possesed with everything being as close to factory as possible. Can you tell me a little more about this switch?
