Starter relay

Where is it? The vehicle in question is a 1999 Grand with the 4.0. I am getting nothing when I turn the key. No "click" or anything. I can jump the starter and it will turn but not engage or start the vehicle. I am gonna start by removing the starter and have it tested. Any other suggestions?

Unfortunately, I could have helped you a month ago, but not now. I kept the FSM from my ill-fated 1999 WJ, but a friend recently acquired a used 2002 WJ and I sent the shop manual to him.

I just tried my parts look-up, but it doesn't show locations of any of the relays for anything.

I can't copy the damn picture like the experts here can, but the distribution center is the one just forward of the blower motor by the battery. This is the text out of the FSM:

 

STARTER RELAY REPLACEMENT

The starter relay is located in the Power Distribution

Center (Figs. 1 and 2). Refer to underside of

Power Distribution Center cover for relay location.

Thanks for the replies. The bendix was stuck and not engaging. Swapped the starter and away she goes.
