Ok..I have an 88 2wd w/ba 10 5spd..I know a lot of you will tell me not to go leafs on the front but i am gonna anyway..What I need to know is my best bet to go with the ax-15 and the 231 for my conversion. :dunno:

Yes. Extra bonus points if you get them from a Wrangler. There are differences from the XJ/MJ versions that will have to be worked around (trans mount, t-case shifter linkage, trans shifter tower/stick) but the YJ/TJ trans clocks (rotates) the t-case up a bit which equates to a bit more ground clearance. :brows:

 

And if you're going with leafs, you'll want to strengthen up the front frame.

Huh? A manual tranny is a manual tranny. No computers involved with our Jeeps. I think the only wiring I did was to splice the backup lights into the new transmission's switch.

It had crossed my mind but i have so much fun with my manual stuff I think I am gonna go that route..The motor has 212k on it so we will see about that engine change..Hopefully not too soon..The 212k was all put on by a pepaw. ;)

No.No...lol...I was responding what i thought to be a response to a guy on southern jeeps about the automatic..I was emailing 6 different people on 4 different sites and got em mixed up..I know..NO computer for the manual..but i am still a dumb arse.. :shake:
