shawn Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 every now and then i see an MJ with the 4x4 emblem on the rear of the side of the box. was this the way the factory put them out in earlier years? until now i always assumed it was done by owners that converted from 2x4 to 4x4, -now i suspect it was an '86,'87 thing.
shawn Posted July 12, 2008 Author Posted July 12, 2008 yes -but what i mean is most are under the side vent on the cab -but some arnt - ????
summerinmaine Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 yes -but what i mean is most are under the side vent on the cab -but some arnt - ???? My 87 has them on the rear of the box.
Phoenix of Fury Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 My '86 4x4 doesn't have them at all. Its possible it wasn't originally 4WD, but if it wasn't, someone did a heck of a job on the conversion.
Pete M Posted July 12, 2008 Posted July 12, 2008 A cursory glance through the dealership brochures says the 4x4 emblem was at the back of the bed for 86 and 87 and then under the vent for the rest. iirc = if I remember correctly
MJ'87 Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 cool, so its kinda rare to have one back there originally. makes me feel like mine is a little more special :D
