  1. In my formidable years, my father always told us boys, that you will never own a motorcycle or a Jeep Wrangler. He considered that those two motorized vehicles were death traps. God rest your soul, Dad. Today, I placed a down payment on a 2005, Jeep Wrangler TJ Rubicon. It is bone stock, yes the body sheet metal has typical rust, but its frame/skeleton and running gear, are in great condition. The soon to be, previous owner took very good care of it and each time that it was driven on salty roads, they would put it through an automatic car wash/undercarriage wash. It was their DD, but it also was always garage kept. Spring of 2020, I will address each rusty area, individually and eventually, nip those problems in the bud. I will also Fluid Film its undercarriage and keep it coated, throughout time. Every option, works as it should. 6-speed manual, 4.0 liter with 107k miles on it. Plus all of the typical equipment, that you will find on a Rubicon. It will remain to be, strictly my DD. No mods, within the foreseeable future. My MJ gets all of the attention. So here, I present you to the '11th Hour' Yes, that its name. It was listed on Facebook Marketplace, for 11 hours, before I discovered it. Also, in reference to, Matthew 20: 1-16. It is my wish to apply bible verses, that mean something to me, on its white body panels in decals and it will be GDZ Jeep.
  2. Figured I'd do an easy one for my first write up. I heard about using JK shocks on this forum, but couldn't find any real specific information. So here ya go! Any set of shocks from a JK will work. I chose to get some from a Rubicon, as they are gas charged, and it doesn't hurt that they are race car red. Takeoff JK shocks are pretty common, there are a LOT of people who lift their JK, and most have very few miles on them. First, let me give you guys some measurements so you can decide if they'll work for you: Front extended: 22.5 inches Rear extended: 23.125 (note: these upper rear bushings are NOT the correct ones I ended up using) Since I failed to get compressed lengths, here's some measurements hornbrod got from Monroe's website: Front: Compressed Length 14.020", Extended Length 21.930" Rear: Compressed Length 14.760", Extended Length 23.150" From what I've heard, they'll work for up to around 2 inches of lift. I have OME 2930 coils up front and 2wd leaves with a 1 inch lift shackle in the rear.
  3. I just recently purchased a Rock Trac t case that came out of a 2010 JK that had 30k miles on it. I'm looking at the very least replacing the 231. I have plans on doing the AW4 to AX-15 or Nv3550 swap. While swapping the tranny that's when I plan on going with the Rubi case. My first question is will the Rock Trac bolt up to the AX-15 as I know that the Rock Trac was only bolted up from the factory to the NV3550 and the NSG370? My next question is what do I do with my speedo? I was thinking of just running without it. It's more of a trail rig anyway. And the last question is: since I do have 2 other Np231's lying around, has anyone done or heard of someone doing a 231/241 doubler? I've tried to research a kit for the rubicon mating to the 231 and I've come up empty-handed. The only thing that pops up on the radar is the northwestfab kit for a 231 mated to their ecobox. It doesn't mention the rock Trac that I'm aware of. Any help would be much appreciated.
