  1. I am looking to buy some all weather floor mats for my base 2.5l and have a few questions. Has any body owned a pair of quadratec/rugged ridge floor mats. They make a pair for Cherokees that look like they would work... but I'm not sure. So far the only comanche specific floor mats I can find are carpet which would not work for british columbia. On my truck, the floors are a rubbery material so I'm thinking I'll have to cut off the knobs and use velcro. I don't know if this works, has anybody tried? Also, I'm just curious to see what people are using so pictures would be greatly appreciated.
  2. Does anyone know the name or the part number of the small floor suport connecting from the inner rocker to the middle frame. I believe it's the same on cherokees as well but was replaced with that box tube looking one that their seat mounts to. Any help would be greatly apreciated!
  3. Today i joined a big club, the rusty floor plan club but its not that bad (so far). I pulled up the drivers side carpet where your feet sit and theres only surface rust except for a hole the size of a thumb that goes all the way through the wheel well and you can see light. I'm in my last week of school so i don't have time to pull out the hole interior this week, but in a week ill do that and sand all the rust and hope for no more holes but then what should i do? should i get it linex? its easy to clean but expensive and takes a couple days, but then what about herculiner? And other good easy to clean bed liner substance. Can they fill the hole?I've heard thats not easy to clean, but its cheaper. also i would get my bed and wheel wells covered with the linex too cause I've been wanting that, but its just a money thing but ill start working again soon. also, could i just prime and paint it and somehow fill the hole or get something welded on. I'm a first timer with this so give me all the details. and yes I've looked at some other stuff, but still not sure what to do. thanks and here's 4 pics of it. 4. OK, I am in the process of trying to replace my badly rusted floor pans with nice new ones, The first real issue I have hit is the rubber crap that was used at the factory to seal the seams. Has anyone found anything that will remove this stuff? I have been chipping away at it for two days with a metal scraper and I still have a weeks’ worth of work at the rate I am going... Next question, anyone know where I can get the little metal beams that were welded on top of the frame to help stiffen it, inside the cab? Mine are completely rusted through. Or a good suggestion for a suitable substitute?
  5. I bought an 88 Comanche a few weeks ago and I am swapping everything from my XJ into it (entire drivetrain, lift, axles, etc.) I knew the floor had some rust but when I pulled the carpet I found this: Which is suprising because the rest of the Comanche is extremely solid, besides the driver side door, there is literally no rust anywhere else. The black square on the passenger side is a patch someone welded in at some point. The driver side had some sheet metal self-tapped in. So, my question is: Should I por15 it or, since I have a donor XJ at the ready, cut that guy to pieces and weld those pieces into the comanche (I have a friend who is very good at welding)? Is my case too bad for por15? If I do por15 do I cut out all rust everywhere or just sand and wire brush it or just use their cleaners and then put it right on the rust? How much will I need? Any tips, suggestions, links, stories, etc. would be very greatly appreciated!
