That is pretty sick. How much would it cost for the materials to make one. its like 305 for one from jcoffroad but i live in hawaii, they would have to freight it over. thats a few extra bills!
-
Ok well just moved back to hawaii. Tried to get it registered and they won't do it cuz the e brake doesnt hold. I even had this problem trying to get in on the boat, had to go from long beach to san diego to a different shipping company. What a hassle. Anyway, i tried while i was up there to see if it was fixable. But its not, so just need some info on where to buy one. So far all i turned up is junkyards, and that sux. Scotty's jeep in cali had one, but i was in a hurry to get it on a boat and home. Any one got any answers?
-
so u know the guy or is it yours? at least i was close chrysler small block, amc small block.... still mopar.
-
Well it was the TPS, good call guys! But now either the battery is finaly dead or the alternator i got from autozone finaly took a dump. One problem to another this trip to cali is gonna be a blast........ As for the red comanche, i aint got no vids or dyno runs. It wasnt no 4.0L though, it had a chrysler small block i believe. ran 13.5 in the 1/4. I never got to talk to the guy, i thought i was gonna be the only comanche at Mopars At The Strip. and beat a 66' dodge truck with a 354 hemi that i helped build.
-
i will try or am i just better off trying to replace it? do they sell it anywhere else napa, autozone, any one knows? I guess i will wing it
-
LOL u guys like that word hosed, i should just replace it. But you know how hard is it? Hesco sells it for $60
-
see i thought i did, it was a dumb idea in the first place. So if it is where do we start? how do i change it out? Clean it? or whatever?
-
would that make the transmission hold gears like that. i get to 4grand in first and then it will shift then about 4grand again to 3rd its like it can't decide.
-
i disconnected it, disconnected the battery to see if it would reset. Nothing. What would you do?
-
trucks running like crap. holds gears till like 4000rpms, it won't stay alive it barely idles. gotta double foot it to drive and i can't get on the free way. I recently tried to clean the engine at the car wash, not a good idea. then i did a 2nd gear drop in my aw4. so the only thing i can think of is i got a relay wet or maybe the trans is finaly going. but that wouldnt make it idle bad. it throws a code 24 on the check engine light. Any ideas? please help....moving to hawaii dec 16 need to get this done.

When I opened the dif to see what I broke the gear said 4.11, so i figured that the shop i went too put that back in. They put a posi in there too but hey i guess i blew that up or something cuz its worthless. Thats what I figured, time to hit the junk yard. But I was probly gonna hit 2 birds with one stone and bolt the TNT belly pan and long arm kit on. But thats the part list i figured. I read the JP magazine write up and it looked easy. just go by what they did.
-
They should be 4:10s. Its probly cuz the engine is tired. But driving alot in the nevada heat, i have had that trans start sliping after a while of stop and got traffic.
-
The only reason I want a stick back is cuz its kinda cool and the selection of what gear I'm in sounds great. I got an AW4 right now and i don't know if its cuz its old (131500 miles) or what but I'm sick of it, can't control second, overdrive is worthless up hills on the free way. And wheeling is just kinda boring just kinda rolling over stuff. I want it to be fun and challenging. I was just gonna read up on how JP did it, probly try hit up that guy who owns the comanche Pete Trasborg or something i forget his name. At least you guys were supportive, most jeep guys (wrangler owners) say its a damn waste of time and money. As for that truck thats sitting next to mine. Some guy was racing it at Mopars At the Strip here in Vegas. I think it was a SB mopar engine, 318-360. Everything was gutted, new rear end, FAT slicks, and of course the bad A$$ 6 pack hood. Never got to talk to him though, he wasnt around. But it ran 13.5 in the 1/4.

cool so it was an option huh. right on good thing my truck is a comanche custom

I picked up a 21 bar grill off a cherokee heading for the crusher, never saw one before. Any body know what it is? Is it rare? Ive only seen the one I own and the pic of it on my owners manual. So far its one of one unless some one else has one.Theres a pick in in my signature box thing.

How would some one convert an automatic comanche to manual? The truck was converted from a 4 banger stick to a 4.0L HO auto, I want a manual back how can I do that? I got a list of stuff I think it would need, but please throw in some suggestions as you see fit. And I don't want to hear "its a waste of money and time, go buy stick comanche". I want to throw the NSG-370 in it, you know the new 6 speed from the rubicon wranglers. They did it in JP magazine, so why can't I. here's the list............ NSG-370 NV241 transfer manual trans crossmember clutch pedal and bracket clutch pedal cable neutral safety switch And thats as far as I got but i know theres more

A trans hose came apart on my truck and i don't know how to fix it. Its a hose that goes to the external trans kooler. It came right out of that crimped sleeve. I need to know what i can do? here's the options i was gonna take..... 1. put a clamp on the crimp sleeve thing and clamp it until its really tight on the hose and see if that works. some ghetto stuff right there. 2. Or if that fails cut right befor the sleeve thing and flare out the tube and then put the hose over it and just clamp it down and pray to the jeep gods it can get me to and from work. Also is there any where i can find just a new line?
