Yeah I have been searching CL and ebay. In my area on CL its hard to find one that isnt busted or $500 plus. I have a really tight budget and am trying to find the best deal possible. I am looking for the ax-15 ideally but have also looked into the nv3550 swap too. If nothing else I can run a BA10 till I get the extra money to buy the nicer trans upgrade.

I am looking for a manual transmission to converty my Jeep from 2wd to 4wd. I have a donor cherokee for everything else. Not really wanting to switch to an auto but if I can't find a manual transmission setup soon may have to resort to it. Any help would be appreciated.

looks good, glad to see the 33's fit nicely. i still need to find some replacements for them but this gives me a chance to pull it in the garage and fix the broken pieces. -
i picked mine up for 300 with the a slight knock. but supposedly had a cracked engine block and leaked water as fast as you put in it. filled it with coolant at PO house drove it home and saw a couple small drips starting. followed the trail back to the water pump. all but one or two bolts where backed out and the ones that hold the pulley on two of them were eating a groove in the pump housing. replaced said water pump with the new in box one the PO gave me and walla no more water leak. ebay a lift kit and soon i have 1200 in a comanche on 33's and 6.5" lift.

I went home on my lunch break and found the top two bolts are 3/8x16x~2" and the bottom two or side two depends on how you look at it are 7/16x14x~3"

I need the bolts that hold the tranny to the engine. I am gonna reuse my flexplate bolts that where on there.
-
yeah i got a new flex plate cause i could see the vertical cracks coming from the bolt holes. i didnt discover the huge circular track till i pulled it off last night to replace it. the jeep made an awful ticking sound and it at first sounded like lifters but when you put it in gear it would go away. so i pulled the inspection cover off and saw the vertical cracks.
-
I pulled the tranny in my jeep to replace the flexplate and discovered that the PO had taken it out and only put two bolts back in. Yeah I was shocked at how i was able to drive this thing around. I went off and forgot my bolts at home and not sure the size of the top two bolts but does anyone know what size they are so i can get new ones on my way home. I know there are four total but not sure on size and don't want to make two trips to town. I will have to take some pictures of what my flexplate looks like. Apparently it was the only thing holding my trany and engine together. It has 4 cracks going out from the bolt holes toward the ring gear and my entire center appears to be its cracked out. I am not sure how was able to drive down the road. Thanks for the help in advance.

where are you located at? i have a d30/35 combo or d30/8.25 sitting just waiting to be used. i could possibly assist with delivery if your not to far away.
-
probably no word on if it ran or not or what is wrong. i would be willing to give 300 whole if i knew it ran or could run with some minor parts
-
tell them to save it. if its decent i would be interested to let my brother fix up and have for a first vehicle. he just turned 16 sunday and is on the prowl for a set of wheels.

I finally have some pics. Here are some of the jeep itself: Image Not Found Image Not Found Image Not Found Here are the ones of the throttle body: 1) Shows the throttle body from top with new bore. Image Not Found 2) Shows how a 58mm bore is close to the egr I believe. If you went 60mm it would make the wall to thin here. Image Not Found 3) Shows with the throttle wide open. Image Not Found If you would like more pics or certain shots let me know and i will take it back apart to give better pictures.

I did finish it. I took a piece of aluminum and cut it out to 60 mm and used a belt sander to slowly remove excess along the sides to fit the bore. got that all done and the shaft slot widened. Installed it on the jeep and idled right off the bat. the best my jeep has run since i bought it. havent got pis yet but will soon. i drove it to work today and there is a noticable difference in throttle response. not a small block response but for these 6'ers not to bad almost like an ho with a throttle body spacer.

thanks for the info. I will see what can do. I'm ready to get this back together and try it out.

will try to get some pics up this weekend. not sure the process of that. I'm not computer savvy. give me some hand tools i can make anything anything hand me a computer ill have it messed up in 5 seconds.

I'm not actually widening the shaft just the opening that the butterfly goes through. this is where it gets precise :) i am using a dremel with a cutoff wheel that comes with them. i started on it today while i was at work but the dremel i was using was battery operated and died on me. so far so good though cut is the same width as the exsisting slit.
-
i had the machine shop where i work bore it out to 58mm. I did some measuring and noticed that the butterfly was 2mm longer than the original bore. so i drew out a circle on a piece of aluminum and cut the cirlce out and used a belt sander to get it just right to fit the witdth and length. now just to widen the shaft and drill my two holes to mount it in the shaft. will post more as i go and let u know the end results.

Has anyone tried to bore their renix throttle body out and make their own throttle plate to fit the new bore? I had mine bore to 58mm and am working on making a new throttle plate to fit the new bore. Any input would help thanks.
