I just got my svt contour out of storage today wow was that great I got my DD back
-
Wow 22mpg , I'm lucky to get 12-15 and all I got are some 31's on it. I'm changing the axles from 3.07 to 3.55 in the near future hopfully I get a couple miles back. I'm not complaining I get on it once and a while, but the highway sucks it down fast it bogs down at 65 70mph especially when I got a head wind or going up a hill it kills it, I loose mph's fast. I try to draft people to help it some.

I have had alot of decks and the best ones I have had experience with is JVC and pioneer. The low end pioneer are good also they can handle the vibration well and the bumps with out breakin your wallet. Find a decent new or used one a on ebay for cheap. I got a pioneer deck that plays mp3 disks and has way to much stuff on it and I don't know half of it, I have no idea what model it is I think a 8400 somewhere around there I got it for $200 and it works great. I havent had a luck with sony I think all there stuff is crap. I have the old sony out of my car and put it in the manche it barely get stations and skips when I hit a good bump. later

Will a battery make that much of a difference moving it 2 ft. Its only 40lbs. It seems like that would be a pain in the @$$ just for a couple lbs.

I went and got some made at a shop around here. The ones they made me were thicker than the pieces that were on there. I have I think 4 leafs in the back thats the way I got it and it rides stiff . I don't know if they used 2wd leafs or not. Would bad shocks cause it to sag?
-
Yeah I replaced two lower leafs when I had my rear end out so that can't be it. I check on ebay all the time and they have some on there for a 2in drop . What kinda lift would that be for my truck? I don't need heavy duty ones I don't go wheelin hard or anything.
-
I have heard of people using chevy drop shackles, I don't know what ones to get. I don't need a big lift just a few inches to get the sag out of the rear end.

Transfer case vac. lines melted
reddog replied to reddog's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
duh :wall: I didnt think of that, thanks. Just curious what do they do? -
OK, my vac lines fell on the exhaust pipe and one or two got melted  , What would these affect being melted? Is it ok to use 4x4 or is going to mess something else up? I noticed my dummy lights don't come on anymore

Right, I was talking about the push rods and lifters and valve cover. thanks for the info

Fuel injector replacement...??
reddog replied to BLHTAZ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
ooooooooooo  the fancy ones LOL jking, Yeah those should would. Make sure no loose caps. Also make sure you push the fuel rail on to the injectors very good. I can't remember if I put the injectors in the rail or in the head first one of the ways makes it a little easier, I used a little motor oil or a little grease to lube up the o-rings so they slide easier. -
Thats ok. So its not as big of a project then. Just rewire the temp sensor thats not so bad. So the only thing left to know if my intake and exhaust with fit to that head and the cam will fit in my motor. I don't care about the O2 sensor mines not hooked up now so thats not a big deal. Its the bolt holes I'm worried about.

Fuel injector replacement...??
reddog replied to BLHTAZ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I swapped mine out with I think 93 mustang injectors it works good, careful not to drop a loose cap down into the intake. One of mine did what a PITA I had to take everything apart. Definitly check the injector caps for a loose one before installing. I bought mine on ebay used, and havent had a problem yet. -
I was reading over taz reply thats for swapping the whole motor I want to swap just the head and cam and still use my intake and exhaust if it will work. The guy I have been talking to doesnt have the complete motor. Well he does but it threw a rod.
-
F@#$ all that mess for just a few HP I'll have to save up and do something else. I was able to get the upper end of the 98 motor minus the intake and exhaust for a good deal and was thinking if it would be easy enough to swap heads and cam I would but now its not sounding like I'm going to do that, to much BS. thanks for the info
-
I'm looking to buy the complete head, cam and push rods. Is there electrical on the newer heads?
-
Thats what I'm looking for is the power gain and my lifters are ticking.
-
Would a 98 4.0 head, cam, and all the other upper end crap fit on my 89 4.0 with no problems
-
WOW  thats scary
