I have a set of 3 of the amc flaps and a rear set of those that just say jeep. I'm looking for the last amc flap.

I have an 88 4.0l. I went and had the 134 conversion done and had the system vac and topped off. That's all. No condenser or drier done. It blows cool at best. I noticed this morning that when its not on high and the fan isn't loud the ac sounds like a slightly opened valve on a propane bottle. Is this normal. I also don't hear the compressor clutch kicking on and off. I haven't found a leak anywhere. There is die in the system from the charge. Another thing was the tech told me it seems there is a restriction somewhere by what the gauges were showing. Any ideas on what my next chore should be? Thanks in advance! Gary

I do have a few spots where there is no grommet or just an open hole in the firewall. I will grab a new donut and re do the connection between the manifold and down pipe and block off the holes. Ill let yous know how it works out. Thanks! -Gary

Hey fellas. My 88 4.0 has a major exhaust leak. I can hear it when accelerating not to mention smell it in the cab. My inner shifter boot was shot so I replaced it with one for a tj thinking it would help. It didn't. I am getting smoke into the cab when I'm going 50 mph +. It looks like its coming from the trams tunnel. I did a valve cover gasket and I still have a little leak but it don't smell like oil. On the interstate in 5th it really starts smoking. I have had manifold cracks before but never smoke. Has anyone heard of this before. Do you think the manifold is the culprite? Appreciate it. -Gary

I just did a valve cover gasket. Didn't touch anything but move the injector harness for access. I go to start it up and it is running very rough barely Ideling and blowing black smoke out the tailpipe. I did notice that the PO wire tied the accelerator cable that had broke. I don't think the cable would make it run rich like this. I'm thinking maybe an injector or 02 sensor? Any ideas? Need to get this running for work Monday. Thanks fellas, Gary

Ok so I put a test light on position 12 on the panel where the circuit braker is and I have no power. I'm stumped. Any other ideas? The circuit terminals were very rusted and I cleaned them off and used another breaker and still nothing. I do not enjoy electrical!

Hey guys, today I noticed the wipes and windshield washer aren't working. I checke the fuse panel and couldn't find a wiper fuse? Is there a relay I should be looking for? Any ideas on the culprit? Thanks fellas -Gary

Hey fellas have a few questions and wonder if anyone has come across this before? My exhaust has been rattling and I noticed that a bracket above the crossmember that has four bolts and also doubles as a hanger is rusted to hell. I couldn't find it online or at autozone. Also I believe that leak is getting into the cabin threw the trans opening.I can smell gear lube exhaust and sometimes see a little smoke when it's really hot. I'm gonna do a valve cover gasket this week. I noticed my ba 10 inner shifter boot has a tear also. Lastly the cabin gets real warm and the center console is too hot to touch. Very hot. Any ideas on the culprit? Thanks, Gary

I had almost the same thing happen to me. I pulled up at the store and parked next to the other MJ. He just so happened to be walking out when I pulled up. I started talking to the guy and noticed a rubber AMC bed mat in the bed. I had been looking for one for a while and ended up buying it right out of the truck! Best 20 bucks I ever spent! Figured I would tell my story.. Lol

It states they will not work for the MJ rear step bumper.

Just aquired a rear step bumper finally. I want to replace the end caps because they were spray bombed. Anyone know of a site to order these? I have only seen the fronts. Thanks, Gary

Found this website looking for bumper hardware. They have oem black and chrome complete bumper packages listed. Also every piece of hardware for sale except the end caps. They even have the licence plate light harness. I could not believe that there was a place all along to get an oem rear step or oem tube bumper. Now i just need to find new rear bumper end caps. www.factorychryslerparts.com Has anyone ordered threw this site before?

I pulled the same mirror at the JY out of a GMC sonoma pick up. I also found a compass and temp auto dimming rear view out of a dodge durango. I went with the comp/temp. I wish it had lights too but o well. They do have them out there with lights but are very hard to find. I think I am going to use the lighted mirror in my scrambler project. Great write up!

I was wondering if it had the top plates and wires as well. I'm gonna haveto pass on this. Way too much. Plus I just found a mint chrome one for pennies. Good luck fellas!

I just put on a ranger tonneau cover. The back of the bed on an MJ is about a inch smaller in width. I'm not sure though if you can make a topper work. If you can get some numbers I can compare to my MJ topper. Good luck, Gary
