This is what a 350 looks like in a comanche.

Mine was sittin' on stock suspension when the V8 found it's home in my engine bay. -
Mine is 2WD but it is hardly stock.

My girlfriend bought me a ComancheClub t-shirt with the same logo as the magnets on the front of it just last week. Don't know where she got it but I was excited.

Can someone give me the dimensions of the stock UCA's. We tore apart a drag car and the rear control arms look very close to an MJ's. They are made of square stock and are quite rugged looking. Not to mention that I don't have to buy or fab anything if these will work.

I had to cut the header panel where the radiator mounts and move it foreward two inches and down about an inch and a half. And I still only have about two inches seperating the radiator and the water pump pulley. As for motor mounts I used Allstar Performance circle track solid mounts, but I can't remember the part number they shouldn't be too hard to track down. And they use the stock mounting positions too. -
4play's link works good try it from here.

Yeah I live in Flint, MI so as long as your car has a plate, most of the glass, and at least one working head light you're usually O.K. Plus my rig doesn't see much street use. But thanks for the heads up. :chillin:

Go to grapeapedesign.com and go to the die-cut stickers section for jeep vehicles and you can get a sticker with a Comanche image peeing on any vehicle logo you want, personally I am going with the H2 logo. Because I peed on an H2 with 20's at a party last weekend.

As for the radiator hose I can't remember right now, I'll have to go through my notes. But the way I got the motor to sit as low as I did was Allstar circle track solid motor mounts. They drop the motor a couple of inches. Circle track guys use these to lower the geometry of their race cars. As for traction assist in the rear, I have a minispool helping me out on that end. I almost forgot I don't need any special tools to change my spark plugs either just my two hands and a short extention. Gotta love it when things work out better than you planned. -
O.K. me next. My name is Dustin. A.K.A possum

It is better than it was. I just installed a SPAL 16" HP fan, and I run purple ice in the coolant. That purple ice is really good stuff I recomend it even if you don't have cooling issues. Anyway I also picked up an aluminum core radiator to replace the copper core sometime soon. But as soon as the racing shop I work for gets some time I am gonna have one (radiator) made just for a V8 comanche. -
Could I maybe get a picture of your roll bar, tire carrier set up without all the junk in the back I like the way yours looks and would like to do something similar.
-
I am gonna try to get a few pics this weekend. they bolth seem to be in pretty good shape. They are kinda rusty around the bed. I think the doors are good. I am gonna get the tail lights off one and a spare grill also. They don't usually crush stuff like those either, they kinda set them in the back for people like us. Also there are two full size wagoneers also.

Found two almost identical red comanches at the local pick and pull. They bolth have tan interior 4cyl and manual trans. One is a short box and the other is a long box. They got body rust but lots of good stuff seems to be there. Gonna have to look closer and not be in such a hurry next trip. I was kinda hungover and had a repair to finish on my ElCamino. Maybe pics too.

Got some pics of my rig. They go side by side

Did you narrow it? It looks to match the front end. Nope just messed with the spring perches a little. I guess from what I heard any post 1965 mopar 8 3/4 has the same track as the front of a comanche. -
got mine gotta pull off the skyjacker one and then I'll take some pics.

The specs are: Chevy 350, TH350 3 speed longtail, 3" Skyjacker lift, 31" BFG's, 1966 Dodge D100 rear end w/ minispool and 3:91 gears. I think that covers most of it. -
New Comanche Owner needs help
possum replied to Rebecca1967's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The flasher in the fuse box could be bad. If so it is an easy fix. Just under the dash on the firewall just below and to the left of the steering column. If that is your problem you can pick one up for right around $12.00 at most any auto parts store. -
This might make ya sick....I just bought a Comanche for $400
possum replied to red_eyed_rider's topic in The Pub
I might be jumping on the boat late but I traded my boss a 1984 2wd dodge ram that I bought for $400.00 for my comanche and saved it from an employee demolition derby that we had where I work. It still has less than 100k on the odometer. Just couldn't stand to see such a nice truck smashed and the dodge was a rust bucket. Now I love my comanche and wouldn't trade it for anything. -
It looks like a skid plate is not for me because they sound like more hassle than they are worth. Thanks guys.
