  1. rings arent that easy to do a proper job you need new rings pistons and the block machined . its not really simple at all
  2. here's a pic stock on 33x12.5s in case any one tells you its not possible ... its trimmed as much as i feel comfortable with and it still rubs like hell on the inner fenders at full lock for the record thats with the sway bar still attached and with over 24 inches of flex
  3. you can get away with cutting the top off a xj ... the unibody "frame" rail is alot stronger than most people give it credit for thats my 91 held up to mud like that never tried it on the rocks(stock height in front and 2.5 inch shackles in the rear with 35s) i twisted the unibody jumping it here's the only picture i can find of me jumping it

  5. You just answered your own question. If your flywheel is bad then the CPS will not read correctly. its only bad on a single tooth of the fly wheel. the cps looks as though it reads off the hollowd part plus that would not explain how it idles just fine and dies when driving
  6. cat is required but not a checked item in my county ill try that either tomorrow or friday

  9. is there a way to check the tps? besides just for power i mean and where would the balast resistor be . its not bolted to the inner fender.
  10. let me start by saying renix systems are confusing as hell . but after tracing down my vacuum leaks. and basically redoing my fuel system. i finally got her running right again . and on my test drive she died . and wouldnt start back up till it had cooled a bit . but now shes doin the same thing over and over again . and now its not gettin out of the apartments . i think its a sensor . i know the flywheel has a bad spot. which is leading me to believe the cps is causing it to die ... but idk and i really don't want to replace the flywheel since i will be doing either a 302 or 350 swap in 8 months or less (alot less if i can't figure this out) also when it dies out . it will crank, fire up and die. NOT just crank forever and for about a 20 seconds or so before it dies it will try to stall out under anythrottle at all . and then it just stalls out on its own. ive replaced the injectors (used with only 120k but still good looking) map sensor egr solenoid fuel pump (now on its own switch) tune up consisting of rotor cap wires and plugs and ive put seafoam in tank it only dies when driving . it will idle for what seems like forever (ive waited 30 minutes) i don't know what else to do any help is appreciated
  11. my names cad or stamp (i answer to both). wanted an mj since i got into xjs finally picked this one up wrecked and having sat for years . i brought her back to life the interior is kinda ratty and the electrical is a nightmare . but that was expected and now shes mostly flat black. fender flareless. and about to be cut fenders sitting on 33s still stock height. 2 inch budget boost is next . not too sure about all its options . i know it has the metric ton package thats about all i can tell you about it though besides the fact that its an 87
