  1. Before I get started swapping my leaf springs.... It should be just remove 12 bolts and install new hardware correct? My new Springs :clapping:
  2. Is there a way to test the load proportion valve to make sure it works right? or how do i properly set it up? the original stick rusted away and i replaced it with a wire coat hanger but do not know if it is adjusted properly... if you are looking at it the arm thing is at about the 10 o clock position. I am at work and did not drive the Jeep today, I wanted A/C, so if needed i can post pictures later tonight or tomorrow
  3. don't know if it would be the same tapping sound as mine.. but my mec. said the hydrolic lifters had crud build-up in them and needed to be cleaned out with a oil additive... can't remember but it was not Lucas it was something else.. he also said it would take multiable oil changes to get it all cleaned out... Still have my tapping sound and had 2 or 3 oil changes so far
  4. I saw that on ebay this moring too.. I thought it was neat.
  5. Will the v8 grand Cherokee coil spring go without modification to the Spring mount?
  6. I am getting the Hell Creek MT springs for my MJ. That will get rid of the 1 inch or so inches of sag from the years and maybe add some lift to the rear. My question is what springs should I use to replace the front springs? I think I remember hearing about using some Grand Cherokee Coils but can't remember for sure.. I still plan to add a Winch to the Grille guard and with the current coils, that will lower the front a good bit.. After I get the MT spring on I want to have the front a little lower than the back... Like most pickup trucks or the stance our F-250 has. Here is what the Jeep looks like as of now. (I don't have the MT leafs yet) I like the stance it has right now.
  7. has anyone done a manual window to power window swap? how hard would it be?
  8. Mobile, AL... By in the area how far are you talkin?
  9. :agree: is the clutch working, and how are the clutch and transmission fluid levels?
  10. Now I finally have some tow/recovery hooks!
  11. I know this is now a old dead post but if anyone was wondering about the Warn Trans4mer grille guard I have some pics on my build thread.
  12. Well I guess the Tranny problem was lack of oil... Still I want to get the transmission replaced.
  13. I don't mean to disrupt a sale, but keep an eye on eBay for some of the hard to find Comanche stuff.
  14. Lee and I finished installing the Grille Guard around 9 PM last night.. Its kinda hard to find those black bolts in the dark if you drop one... Now... I just need to get the Tranny replaced and get a winch! :wrench:
  15. Well getting my grille guard has been slower than I thought... I still need to drill a hole in each bumper bracket for the Guard mounting bracket, and 2 holes on each 1/4 steel grille guard mounting brackets... Looks like I will be going to the store again after work. Here is what it looks like thus far. I still need to mount the winch carrier, brush guards, and the bumper needs to go back on.
  16. My Grille Guard center did come in while I was at work! :clapping: So I thought I should get started! So after I got the bumper off (by removing the bumper and brackets as one) I then proceeded to remove the air dam. It had 4 plastic rivets connecting it to the front flares and five 7mm hex screws... I managed to snap off the center 3 hex screws... When I started to remove the brackets from the bumper I noticed it had 1 hex bolt and 3 of the largest star pattern bolts I have seen in a while.. :headpop: So I called it a day and will be going by the store on the way home from work to get something that will fit! Also for some reason the horn has not been working as of late, but that is for another day.
  17. I ordered my Warn Trans4mer Grille Guard on the 5th and ordered the winch carrier and the brush guards on the 9th. Well the winch carrier arrived on the 13th... I am still waiting on the Grille guard center... which was ordered a few days before the carrier and brush guards... also the brush guards where ordered with the winch carrier!!?? I am not sure what is goin on with their shipping department.. well here is a pic of the winch carrier I took the other day. Hopefully the Grille Guard center will be on my front porch when I get home tonight!
  18. Last weekend I installed some Hood lifts from Redlinetuning.com.... I could have found a cheaper way to do it but I like ready made kits with Full Color Pictures

  21. How do I remove the Windshield trim... I would like to paint it but do not want to tape up my jeep and risk over spray. (I am still overly protective of the paint job i got last year) Thanks
  22. i think they has a vr10k winch for about 570 something and the vr8K for 470 something i can't remember i need to look again.. i am thinking about getting the 10k.. it cost a little more but will be better in the long run i think.
