  1. last night i got the exhaust ready to be bent up, which is getting done today brakes are all hooked up and bled, pedal feels nice and stiff, hopefully i won't have to bleed them again did some other misc crap then loaded it on the trailer, what a b*@$£, i need this thing running goal for the weekend, have it DRIVE onto the trailer on monday caged, with new seats and harnesses then i will just have nit picky stuff to do next week and can hopefully get it out for a test run some afternoon next week ok drug it into work with me this am, gotta head over to get the exhaust done at 8 it is more forward on the trailer then i would like, but untill i do something with those ramps this is where it will have to sit, maybe i can do something this weekend anyone wants to help this weekend in worcester let me know and ill give you my cell number
  2. DAYS TO BE FINISHED: 8 - install front brakes DONE - install tranny DONE - install t-case - finish steering - install hydro steer - build + install drive shafts - build cage DONE - finish trim job - wire lights + other misc wiring - all fluids - front bumper (if time permits) - install new seats and harnesses, now needed as i had to cut out the floor for the t-case to be clocked up and lost my old mounts on the passengers side DONE - finish front mounting brackets - rework floor after cutting for t-case the plan for this evening, get it running, all fluids in, install brakes and bled, do nitpicky things like wiring and such
  3. lots of work in the garage finally, tranny is in, t-case is in, fenders and lights are all trimmed up and brackets have been plated these pics also show the waggy springs installed
  4. i believe they are different
  5. thanks man, I'm going to need all the luck and sleepless nights in the garage i can handle
  6. ok yesterday felt like a waste but it was needed drove 2hrs each way only to pull 4 7-leaf waggys in about 30 mins and then head back home anyway, got home and installed the springs, while they give me the lift i desperately needed i also used them to push the axle another inch forward, ending up with 119.5" wheelbase, that made some different clearance issues tho so then we started "trimming" i no longer have anything under the headlight, ie no blinkers, and only saved half the marker light. then i got rid of everything under the headlight with some creative sawzall and BFH work, still need to do the pass side DAYS TO BE FINISHED: 10 - install front brakes - install tranny - install t-case - finish steering - install hydro steer - build + install drive shafts - build cage - finish trim job - wire lights + other misc wiring - all fluids - front bumper (if time permits) - install new seats and harness (if time permits) - wire brakes on trailer
  7. ill see about the springs, these packs are already pretty soft the tire is not going to be touching the tank, when i finish it it will be resting on the cage back there i know i needed more lift, if you read above i talk about it, that was addressed today with a nearly 300 mile trip to get 7-leaf waggy springs, now the front sites perfect and the shakle angle is alot better also the fenders are in the precces of being hacked, i no longer have a blinker and i only have 1/2 of the side marker and no reason to go that far now as this rig is to be wheeled till i fold it in half, and then build a tube buggy
  8. ok this first pic shows how little clearence i have in the front the front brackets are not finished, i will be boxing inbetween them but i wanted a rolling chassis so i stoped there last night today adam and i mounted the tool box, mounted the gas tank, changed around the bumper and fit it between the frame rails, (still have some plating to do there) and mounted the spare we need some burgers and beer
  9. well I HAVE A ROLLING F'ing CHASSIS FINIALLY problem tho, i either need to loose all my lights (don't want to do) or i need 4" YJ lift springs ???????????????ANYONE HAVE 4" LIFT SPRINGS FOR A YJ??????????????
  10. yes ive run up there before

  13. and yes i realize no one here really lives near me, i just copied it from my club forum
  14. ok i was really tired from getting up yesterday at 4:30 am so i didnt really have the drive to do much but i did spend about an hour and a half at 2 different parts stores getting brake lines and fittings and such, i think i have everything i need probably going to work on getting that stuff in today also BIG WORK PARTY at my house on SATURDAY, i have to be up at about 8 to sell my quad, so anytime after 8 you are welcome to come, working on the jeep all day then out to the Salty Dog at night
  15. thanks man the are stock YJ springs for now, i need to get my brackets set so i can see if they will be enough, and yes i mounted the rear in the stock lower control arm brackets which i plan on beefing up PBB thanks thats what i was looking for
  16. well i wish i had my own welder cause i could probably have a rolling chassis tonight these are the brackets i made today how they will mount, well kinda they will be welded to the angle, going to mount the angle to the tow hook brackets and gusset it in well so it won't move, i will also be boxing them in on the front, back, and the bottom half doors that are finished and the view out of them twin sticks
  17. ill take some measurements for you tomorrow
  18. ok well ive done a bit of work and got a couple more parts got the half doors all finished off, just need some primer and some carpet for the inside to make them echo less. going to find some outdoor carpet that doesnt mind getting wet, anyone got a source for me? got my twin sticks in for the d300, they are slick i can do rear low, front low, both low, both high, and rear high, but i also did not switch out the shift rails for ones without detents so i can't acidently put one in low and one in high got new u-bolts bent up yesterday so the rear isnt going to fall out now also got the shackles in i am going to use, going to northeast fastener today to get hardware, I'm hoping maybe they will have a sleeve for the yj bushings as well, the ones i got did not come with them ??? hoping to get the brackets for the shackle hangers all designed, cut and tacked in today, maybe ill even have a roller by tomorrow night. that would be nice cause i could get a good cleaning of the garage without it in the way ill have pics tonight or tomorrow general to do list: 1. shackle hanger brackets 2. MC and all new brake line install 3. ream pitman arm and shorten drag link 4. install hydro steering 5. install tranny and tcase 6. drive shafts 7. roll bar, gas tank mount, some kinda bed or something 8. fix some wiring 22 DAYS TILL IT NEEDS TO BE TESTED AND ON THE TRAILER TO FALL CRAWL
  19. yup don't worry guys there will be lots of trimming to the finders and such hoping to keep all the lights but we will see when i really flex it out 119" wheelbase as stated above
  20. she is going to be one big bisnatch got the rear of the springs mounted, slide the axles under there and got it all centered up, will be running 119" wheelbase, started thinking about the front shackle mounts i also got my hydro stuff in from west texas offroad, now i just have to remember where the hell i put my pitman arm reemed for a 1ton tre should be installing the tranny and case tomorrow afternoon its starting to look like a truck again
  21. the bumper i built for my mj (ill have to see if i can dig up some pics) used 1/4 to the frame also but it also had a 1/4 gusset that ran 6" or so down the bumper and 4" down the bracket the 2" reciever was set right through the 2x4 box tube i used and then had 1/4 plate that made a big A under the hitch and back to the 2x4 imo the bolts holding the bumper on were going the break before the hitch even moved i just feel it will be more benificial to make some gussets for the hitch so it is braced more as side loads is what i would be most concered about with that hitch
  22. that is even more scary to me then, as the loads you will likely see when straping from it will be bigger then those while towing something that an MJ is capaible of I'm not trying to bash your skills, just trying to give you constructive critism for next time
  23. i like the bumper design and it seems to fit well, but I'm not sure that reciever should be trusted to tow much it would be much more sturdy if it went through the bumper so it could be welded on all 4 sides and front and back
  24. If the board is intact -- I'm interested. The fabric isn't important as long as the board is solid and not bent or broken. How far is Granby from New Haven, CT? if i remember right its not bent or anything ill check it an get back to you also if you don't need it right away my brother goes to QU and could probably bring it down
  25. i have one sitting outside the garage might be wet tho
