  1. You'll need 2 people, one in the cab and one under the truck. Hook a hose onto the bleeder screw and run it down into a bottle that has brake fluid in it (making sure the end of the hose is submerged). Have a small wrench on the bleeder screw. Turn it about a half turn and have the person inside the vehicle put the clutch to the floor and hold it until you have the screw tightened back. You should have lots of air bubbles going through the hose. Check the reservoir as you don't want it to suck air into it. Keep it filled up. Repeat these steps until only fluid is running through the hose when the clutch is depressed. Then tighten the screw well and Fill the reservoir up and put the cap on. This will properly bleed your clutch. Know that you may not have pressure in your clutch for a good while during bleeding. Bleed until all air is gone and all pressure is regained.
  2. Chrysler parts website. An I don't at the moment. Does anyone have the black and chrome bezel just like that one with all the covers installed? Thanks
  3. Would a brand new dash bezel have the dowels for me to slide those pieces on and melt them?
  4. My truck got broken into and they tore up my truck for my stereo and iPod. Well this dash piece I can find, but the little squares with the little rectangular punch-outs for switches are never in them, which is what the red arrows are pointing to. I want to know if I can remove these and put them in a new one or if anybody has this black and chrome trim piece with the squares in. I don't want big holes in my dash where those covers are. The little things seem to come off, but seem brittle? Will i break these? Is there a trick? And will they install on a new one snug? It looks to have never been taken apart. Appreciate all help! Thanks, John
  5. Mine does this also. Is something wrong with my truck?
  6. How would i get the level look? What exactly would I do with the front and how much of a spacer to level it with the chevy drop shackles? And bringing it to a shop, i would get proper alignment and avoid wobble right? Thanks
  7. Shouldn't spring pucks be about $60 and the chevy drop shackles $40? How would I go about putting the pucks up front? Wjhat are the steps? Thanks
  8. Well I'm wanting my truck to sit up a few more inches. I'm wanting to go level or a little up in the front. What will I need to do? I'm wanting to keep a pretty good ride, but I want more clerance and a higher stance. I need something that won't be to hard to obtain and not to hard to put on. Not looking to spend over about a hundred bucks. Whats my best route? thanks
  9. Where is the drain and fill plug on an NP231? I've looked and there's grease everywhere so I can't find it? Pics please! And also on the peougout transmission? Also is it common for this transmission to leak? Thanks
  10. My hood won't go down on the driver side. I've been tryingto pry on it with no luck. I sprayed it down. But the latch is like its closed still. It seems like maybe something behind it is holding it. Anyone had this problem? :huh???: Help! :dunno: Thanks John
  11. It was already flanged, I just reconnected what was already there. Did I need to do something different?
  12. Got my master cylinder replaced with my dad, got it bled and everything. Clutch felt better so I started it. It's like the clutch isn't engaging, it just wants to go so I had to shut off my key because the clutch isn't putting the transmission in neutral. I found I have brake fluid leaking out of my hydraulic line when I push in my clutch. Would my truck be doing this because of this? ***Pics*** Where my leak is
  13. Alright thanks guys, just got my master cylinder changed out. We went to bleed the system and can't get the screw open. How do you get this open? Whts the easiest way? Its hard to get to and it doesn't want to turn. Help please! The red arrow is the bleeder screw right? Is this what needs to be turned? Or is it the others? I can'tget any broken loose. What needs to be done? Trying to get this thing up and running. Thanks!
  14. Well I was going to try bleeding my clutch, but i couldn't get the bleed screw to turn and the whole thing was like bending. I didn't wanna break anything. Should this part going into the transmission slide in and out at all? It looks like silicon or something is around the hose. Is there something wrong with mine? I shove it in some. I'm not sure what top do from here. Master cylinder was about half full. It was black fluid in it though. And the slave is inside and I sure don't wanna drop my transmission. Also, I have a leak down on the transmission. Looks like a bolt shoul be there. Although even with this fixed, my truck still isn't very drivable. It just caught my attention. Pics...... Where the clutch should be... Where the clutch is before it has any resistance. In between is all slack. The bleeder valve set up. Where it is pushed in. Where it is pulled out. It moves in and out about a quarter of an inch.
  15. I was driving home from the gas station and I shifted into second gear and my clutch felt like it lost pressure. When I went to shift into 3rd, my clutch was all wiggly and didn't have any pressure until a couple inches from the floor. when I ease off, aboutan inch from the floor, is released now. Did my clutch go out or could it be something else? I'm 16 and don't have the money to replace a clutch. Has this happened to anyone? Is there anything I can do? It was pretty hard to drive home. Thanks
  16. Thanks guys, do we have any write ups on changing things like the oil pan gasket, valve cover gasket, and the rear main seal? My oil leaks really need to be the first project. I've never done motor work. Help please. Thanks!
  17. I'm running 31's. Much improvement over the street tires. And I wish I knew how to lift lol.
  18. What'd you do for the lift? I really just wanna pick my front end up.
  19. The blue thing? Thats an MJ that was flooded. It came with my truck. It's an 88. I havent't hardly taken anything offo f it. I'm still wondering what I should do with it lol.
  20. Yes, I like camo a lot. I think it looks great and its nice for hunting. At the moment, it's pretty cold and i haven't messed around with the truck, just been driving it. But I'm wanting to pick up my front end about 2 inches but i'm not sure where to start. I need to get my new window trim installed and my windows tinted. I just put in a new stereo and speakers. Lastly, I need to tend to some leaks that I've came to notice and a noisy a/c fan. I think I need a rear main seal and a valve cover gasket and maybe even a new oil pan gasket. The truck was barely run for 5 years straight so I'm not sure if this has been needing done or not. But like I said, I'm not sure where to start or exactly what the problem is. It's not a bad leak, but enough to bother me. It's definitely an addiction. I constantly worry about problems because I want this truck to run forever.
  21. Thanks for the correction lol. Its a 30 and a 44.
  22. Well I've had this truck since about August 09 and it's been an ongoing project. It is a 1987 Jeep Comanche 4x4 with the 4.0 with the peogout 5 speed. Dana 30 and 44 combo with an NP231. I'm making it little by little. This is my first truck. I've done my floors and replaced some things and have repainted it so far. I have lots of ideas but not so much knowledge or money for them. It'll probably be a never ending project. Here are some changes its been through under my ownership. When I got the truck. Under Our carport with some paint on the wheels. Took care of my floors. Not too bad. Passenger said had barely any. This is drivers. Getting ready for paint. Painted. Sitting to dry. New tires and wheels. Loaded Down. Interior Shot. New Headliner. Thanks to everyone who has helped me with my project. There will be many quesions to come due to a few odds and ends needing to be worked out. Thanks!
  23. I definitely don't top 55 in heavy rain. I'm getting slip off of stops and red lights and sometimes in second gear. Thanks for the opinions.
  24. Well I'm on all terrains, but the road quality sucks so i tend to have the rear slide at times. So is it still alright to shift on the fly? I just don't want to wear it any. But sometimes i feel like I need 4wd because it rains so hard and water can't drain fast enough.
