  1. Alright. Any dying adeas?
  2. Alright so when I get back from the stroe in a bit, I want to get my seat and carpet out. i know it not this easy. I've never done this befpre. Mostly I'm worried about carpet and how to get it from under everything. Also, how do I get out that small console that holds the shifter and the 4wd lever. It's hooked to electricity to light up the 2h, 4h, N, and 4L. Help would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to break anything. What's the easiest ways? What all hs to be pulled off? Where are screws, ect. .? My plans are to bedline the floor, then clean and dye the carpet and put it all back in. Please help. Thanks!
  3. I've done this to 2 Rangers and I'm pretty sure you can do it to Comanches. Anyway, if you grab your pedal and pull up, there's most likely some slack because of throttle cable stretch. I looked under my dash and saw I had about an inch of stretch in my Comanche. In the other trucks, the trick was to lift the pedal and put in zip ties to fill in the slack, therefore giving you more pedal and more top speed. Nothing that we really need, but it could improve acceleration also. I'm just wondering if anybody has done this to these trucks? It's rather easy and should bring the pedal up a bit and giving you much more throttle.
  4. So where would the bolt be that yoou use the tire tool to lower it?
  5. Is it alright to run my jeep without this connected?
  6. It is a 1987 Comanche 4x4 with the inline 4.0.
  7. There is a plug-in on the front of my carb and I was wondering if anybody knew anything about it. It's the one to the right and it's called the throttle position sensor. My truck was idling about 3,000 rpms non stop so I couldn't even drive it. It'd take off and peel out and I was afraid I'd burn it up. I unplugged the electrical plug outta my throttle position sensor. And I started it, it idled up and right back down to where I want it. Did I fix my problem? Should I replace this sensor? Does anybody know if I can leave it like this or have you had the same thing happen? I found the part on jcwhitney. But if I replace that sensor and hook the electric plug back into it, will it keep doing this? Thanks in advance
  8. Where is the IAC located at?
  9. So do I fill it up to the top with diff oil? And can I drain it from the bottom and put all new diff oil to the top?
  10. Alright and what all do I need to greease and add oil to on my front end?
  11. Alright maybe this a dumb question, but how exactly do you bleed brakes? Also, my truck idles real high each time when you crank it (around 2500 rpms). I'm not sure if this is normal or not. Usually it idles itself back downor when I left off the clutch it idles down. My dad said it wouldn't idle down the other day so he killed it and cranked it again. Is this a problem? Whats goin on? Thanks
  12. I never found the red line, but I did slide the Cad over and my 4x4 does work properly. Th only thing I'm worried about is when I reinstalled the cover upside down, it pulled it back over a little to the right get the fork in. Therefore, its not completely to the left side because of where the forks holding it. Will this strip the edge of my splines or is that normal? Also can't the fork slide back to the right, disengaging it, since all I did was turn it over as I was told to? And should I add more oil into the diff? What kind? And How do you know the fill line?
  13. And how will the transfer case then be engaging? And the holes on top of the CAD won't fill with mud, water, or trash? Is the capping of the red line mandatory?
  14. Alright thanks. So I should just pull the vaccuum lines off the CAD and tie them up? And what do I do with the holes they were connected too?
  15. So when oil comes out, do I need to add more? and where? That wasn't stated in the write up. And what type of oil? Thanks
  16. Do I need to take pressure off the wheels of the truck? Do I need to put it up on jack stands or can I just drive it up on some car ramps?
  17. Should I be expecting any troubles? What's the easiest way to slide it over? And once the oil pours out, what oil do I use to add more and how do I check it and where do I add it? I just want it to go as easy as it as said and want to go into it knowing exactly what needs to be done. Also Will the fork sit up against the part I slide over or does it go into it where the groove is? And other than those questions, basically I take out 4 bolts, slide the fork and the ?CAD? over, put the circlip back in and put 4 bolts back in?
  18. So the front and rear turn always on a 91 or newer? So the front only turns when its rolling if I do this? But doesn't have its own power until I put it in 4wd right?
  19. So when the transfer case is engaged, the shaft turns. Therefore if the shaft is turning from me locking the CAD, wouldn't the transfer case be turning and wearing? Or is there a connection point in there that won't turn unless you engage it?
  20. So the front drive shaft will spin when it is only in 2wd if I lock the CAD?
  21. Well if i slide this over, won't it put excessive wear on all the front end? Because it was made with vaccuum lines for a reason. I know it'll still have 2wd and 4wd but the front will always be connected and won't exactly be "free wheeling".
  22. The shaft is spinning when it is in 4 wheel drive, but the tires aren't getting power. Also my 4x4 light is on. I did find a blue line with a connecter (i guess this is what you'd call it) for another line to run onto it. And down by my actuator there is a yellow, green, and white running out and up. Well I'm guessing these are the same lines, but the white one ends under the hood and does not enter the cab. Is it supposed to be connected to the blue? Is this the engage? Also is the actuator supposed to move slightly like in a spinning motion? And where should I like under the hood for the end of vacuum lines? I really have no idea what I'm doing. Thanks!
  23. I'm new here, with a question. When you put thos Jeep into 4 wheel drive, the front isn't pulling. It's not making weird noises and you can tell when you put it into low and all. But the front isn't pulling. I'm going to look more at it tomorrow. Could it be the actuator or a vacuum hose? Anything common? Any ever had this problem? Any help would be appreciated as I am wanting to purchase this 87 Comanche. Thanks
