1988 SoCal Jeep Comanche Build
Bomberjeep replied to boxyjeep's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
I know the feeling. Ive had both of mine for a year and they both seem to just want repairs more than anything else. All we can do is plug away -
1988 SoCal Jeep Comanche Build
Bomberjeep replied to boxyjeep's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Man. I just read your whole build. She's awesome. Keep up the great work!! -
Much appreciated. Thank you

So I was out today and the window on my drivers side decided it didnt like being in one piece. The whole window shattered. The million dollar question is will the full windows out of a 2000 cherokee and the associated hardware slide into the track and go together with the 89 doors with the split windows? The Cherokee is in a local junkyard so I am unsure whether or not its power windows or what not. Other option would be ordering the glass off Amazon for 90 bucks

Hey man, great build! My kids love my Comanches as well. The boy keeps telling me that he will drive one of them one day.....we shall see. He has a few years before that can happen anyway. Keep up the great work!

ISO FUEL AND FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY
Bomberjeep replied to shortee1fourtee's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I just ordered one from eBay. Should have it in a week. -
Sorry. I’m talking about the nut that holds the axle into the wheel bearing.
-
So my 89 has a bad wheel bearing and to alleviate having to run to the store to grab the right size socket, I was wondering what the axle nut size is? Any help would be appreciated.
-
@eaglescout526 Thank you! I really appreciate this
-
Just got it a few weeks ago and spent a few weeks diagnosing a crank no start. Now she’s running and driving. @eaglescout526 i heard I should tag you.

Sway Bar or No Sway Bar?
Bomberjeep replied to Bomberjeep's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
And they bolt right in? -
My sway bar end links are barely attached to the sway bar. I was wondering how many people just ditch the bar?

Replacement Tailgate Handles

I would need this too. My handle on my 89 just ripped clean off and the latches are frozen shut -

89 MJ AW4 transmission line pressure?
Bomberjeep replied to Bomberjeep's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
That’s what I was thinking of doing. Again you’ve been a big help! I'm guessing a fuel line would do the trick? -
89 MJ AW4 transmission line pressure?
Bomberjeep posted a topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
After replacing some leaking power steering lines and going to bleed the system I noticed a pinhole leak on the transmission cooler line. I’m trying to figure out how much pressure is actually in that system. -
2 pin vs 3 pin Crank Position Sensor?
Bomberjeep replied to Bomberjeep's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
It was a 3 plug with 2 wire. I misread. -
2 pin vs 3 pin Crank Position Sensor?
Bomberjeep posted a topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I recently picked up another 89 MJ with the 4.0 and using Cruisers cps test noticed that my Crank Position Sensor is not providing enough juice. The local NAPA has one that is 3 wire. Mine has a 2 wire sensor. Are they interchangeable? -
Stock Leaf Spring Leaf Count?
Bomberjeep replied to Bomberjeep's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I’m sure the axle was a junkyard axle and they probably took everything. The mid 90 XJ parts worked and the ole girl stops no problem. Also got rid of a squeak that was coming from the drivers front. -
Stock Leaf Spring Leaf Count?
Bomberjeep replied to Bomberjeep's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
My MJs a 2wd version. The axle that was put in is a Dana 30 from a 4WD Cherokee. It is just gutted but has the stub shafts that hold the wheel bearing together. That was the reason the parts I initially ordered didn’t work. I was able to deduce that it was from a mid 90s XJ by the ID tag on the axle. -
Stock Leaf Spring Leaf Count?
Bomberjeep replied to Bomberjeep's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Both packs are shifted all over the place. Like a kid trying to shuffle a deck of cards. I received one of the leafs from rock auto. The other should be in soon. in the meantime, I fully rebuild the front brakes. Turns out I have the axle out of a mid 90s XJ. So none of the brake stuff I ordered from rock auto was right. Thankfully the local parts store had everything in -
Stock Leaf Spring Leaf Count?
Bomberjeep replied to Bomberjeep's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Good to know. Hopefully the oem replacement leafs don’t donkey the ride height. The replacement parts should be here in a few days. I’ll let you know. Thanks! -
Stock Leaf Spring Leaf Count?
Bomberjeep replied to Bomberjeep's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
That’s good to know. Makes sense thinking about it. I really don’t know what kind of suspension one of the previous owners put under her. The front coils have Chrysler stickers on them and they look newer. It looks like the rear has the shackle lift and a bastard pack leaf setup. I just haven’t heard of that in the MJ/XJ community
