  6. have had this truck for about 4 years 88 jeep comache 4.0 with an ax-15, and it would happen occasionally when the truck got hot on the highway, you pull in the clutch and hit the brake and it dies…while rolling pop the clutch and starts back up or come to a stop and use the starter starts back up no problem. well lately its been happening alot more frequently and I have replaced several components or adjusted things over the years that I believed to be involved- coil, crank position sensor, idle speed, inspect the grounds. with no real luck so I'm wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem and any fixes in mind. maybe still too low a idle or fuel pressure regulator or pump on its way out?
  7. Initially I believed it was a throwout bearing cause ive had a slight rattle after having a transmission rebuild, took it to AAMCO and after ripping my differential apart they quote me $2632.07 for only doing ring and pinion and bearings and seals (no spider gears). I work on motorcycles for a living so I understand shops and parts price but the fact they “couldn’t find” 3.07/8 gears for weeks when I found them online in 15 minutes and when they did find them the cost was $813.21…. after telling him to go F himself I was able to arrange bringing my own parts in for cost of labor. And trust me I tried to take it somewhere else but they want $700 for diagnostic dis/and reassembly…
  8. thanks for the help. I appreciate it.
  9. thanks for the clarification appreciate the help.
  10. appreciate the help
  11. Just to make sure, the 3.07 is correct for the rear axle. I always thought the 3.07 was for the front axle with a 3.08 in the rear. I notice the spline count also says 26 when I believe its supposed to be 27.
  12. Maybe blown is the wrong word, differential was clicking loudly while in motion was able to drive it slowly to the nearest shop that I believed would do good work. Here I am 3 weeks later no truck and an estimate through the roof if they have to source the parts for the 3.08 ratio.
  13. Recently blew up my rear diff and shop says they “can't find the right pinion gears”. I can find dana 35 3.08 pinion gears online but fitment say it is incorrect for a 1988 jeep comanche with 4x4 and 5 speed manual. Is there really a difference between a cj and mj dana 35 rear axle? here's the website where I found what I believe is the right stuff but correct me if I'm wrong. https://revolutiongear.com/revolution-gear-ring-pinion-for-dana-35-3-08-5-13-ratio/
  14. The holes are tapered unfortunately, the other option i’m seeing in order to make what I have work like it should is to cut down the drag link on each side about a half an inch so i can pull my pitman arm to be parallel with my frame, right now my drag link is too long so its bottomed out on each end and the pitman arm sits about 30 degrees off from parallel my only concern with that is i might have to thread the drag link deeper in order for the ends to thread deeper and finding a 7/8-18 tap and a reverse thread for the other side seems like alot of money. maybe a machine shop could cut the threads assuming they got a good lathe guy or tap
  15. Howdy, anyone holding a pair of comanche 4x4 spindles/steering knuckles mine have been drilled out for some reason and no longer fit stock tie rods or drag link ends, also turns like a trash can cause of it. seems they’ve been out of production for a while and seen a few on ebay but thought Id check out if anyone here is holding onto the goods appreciate any help
  16. cannot for the life of me make this fuel line fit back on the rail, ive bought 3 or 4 fuel line repair kits , part number HK7 from STANDARD, and its just not happening any ideas before I just go make a new fuel line with doorman connectors and hose clamps
  17. recently replaced injectors fresh o rings, basically gonna run through it all till its right again
  18. So i've had a problem for a while now where the fuel pressure will exceed 30 psi right after ignition (usually 40psi) if i’ve drove around and ran a few errands, stopping the motor and starting it again a couple minutes later. What I've noticed is that my fuel pump will prime every time I turn the key whether or not the fuel rail is under the correct pressure or not. Could that be a problem with my fuel pressure regulator or possibly a sensor I'm unaware of. Appreciate any help
