Having an issue on the wiring harness truck side from the 97+ swap. Not getting enough voltage to the fuel pump. Still trying to figure it out. The brown wire pump side is ground and the yellow is positive. Pump is fine I tested it. Checked all fuses and relays. Not sure boys.

Been working a day or two every weekend on this truck for about a month and now it’s on the back burner while I find some motivation. 1997 Swap into an MJ. Was working fine until I decided to try and cut down the body harness on the XJ side. I'm wanting to eliminate the extra door plugs since it was from a 4 door and tidy up my interior when all said and done. If anyone has any tips or tricks or if you’ve done this before please chime in. What I can tell is when I removed the plug from the rear driver side it stopped the fuel pumps circuit. I didn’t realize it would do that since I thought the wire for the pump was strictly on the passenger side.

I know this thread is older but I have a question on the cab wiring. Did you keep the extra plugs on the xj harness for the back two doors? I want to get rid of them and was wondering how. I hacked mine off and haven’t finished but I realized I messed up the fuel pump wiring by doing so.

Not the best work I’ve done but I got the doors shutting now. Not really going for factory anyways. It’s a work truck at this point

So for the front and rear of the flatbed it’s gonna be made with this 2x6 .25 wall dom. I’m gonna run 2x2 3/16 wall down both sides then brace them. Then comes a gas tank mount and skid, and some tool storage underneath. I’ve thought about running ammo cans sideways underneath for storage. And of course a nice sized vice near the cab on the 2x6.

Over the last month me and my good friend worked on this thing to get it where it is now. I’m gonna finish the rest after I ets back home from the army. But for now it runs and drives -most all electrical issues have been fixed -brakes installed and bled with extended brake lines -fuel lines lines routed -non slosh pan adapted to a Dakota pump with motobilt ring -front rough country springs and shocks -diff fluid - 2wd driveshaft shortened(temporary) -transmission linkage and t case linkage next few steps will be to add Cherokee seats, finish up the flatbed, door strikers, and paint.

Today I used a wire wheel to scuff off some crud from where the windshield has been leaking. I found that the floor has been patched with fiberglass already. I just used por15 bc I already had it and I figured I’d cover the whole floor inside and underneath it outside. Next I’m going to put down some kilmat on the tunnel and behind the seats. Also tom it goes off to a buddy of mine to finish up the wiring, plugs, cap/ rotor, and brakes. After that it’ll be back in my shop to do the flat bed, mount the gas tank, and make seat brackets. All within time I suppose.

Last thing I have to do to get it running is wire up the Dakota pump. Kinda at a loss because it seems the wiring harness isn’t complete. I may just attempt to make my own harness addition myself.

It was the contacts in the pcm where the starter relay goes. It turns over with the key now but it would start with gas. I got the engine bay sorta cleaned up and I got a new valve cover gasket in. Got the Dakota pump installed in a non slosh tank with a motobilt ring. Sold the bed late last night and now I’m gonna start working on the flatbed while continuing working on the weekends to get this thing running and driving. Still need to get the brakes ran and finish the 97 door strikers. Lots to do and not a lot of time.

Put the Volta meter to the fuse block and when I turn the key it gets a good reading. So I’m getting signal from the key to the fuse block and to the starter. So I’m kinda stumped. I double checked all my grounds and cleaned them up as well
