Was able to find a parts MJ with a Dana 44 rear hiding underneath. Picked up what was left of the truck this evening and will get this cleaned up before installing.

Got a bit more work done but not finished with the bedside patches just yet. Waiting on the new key parts driver side rear lower latch panel to arrive. Was able to pick up a grey bench seat locally and got that installed with the mini console. Will be ordering a new carpet shortly. Also tinted the windows and finished off the suspension lift for now.

Thanks Pete, couldn’t figure out how to rotate them so I let it fly

picked up a grey bench seat locally with good brackets and seat belts. It needed a good scrubbing but the chemical guy’s upholstery cleaner worked really well with minimal effort. Will scrub it down one more time before it goes in. Keeping my eye out for a grey mini console

Picked up a 92 Eliminator 4x4 auto that has seen some much better days but pretty much fit the bill to let me build it as I wanted based on its current status. I was hoping to find something a bit cleaner to start with but I’m actually pretty happy with it so far. Goal is to build a capable little wheeler that I can take with some local clubs. Previous owner had started to swap the nose for the 97+ look which I wouldn’t have done but will likely leave for now. I also picked up a Tomken front bumper that I liked a lot. So far I’ve started with replacing the rotted Sheetmetal components consisting of rockers, rear wheel wells and drivers cab corner. Have a bit more sanding to do on the pass side and it will be finished. Drivers side still needs the lower rear panel patched(which I see Key Parts has just released 👍). Picked up a used set of 31” ko2’s but not sure the 3” RC lift will provide enough extra for my liking. Installed the front coils and shocks first and it really just leveled the truck out with the stock rear springs in place.

I just picked up a bench seat locally to replace my factory buckets. The additional seat option really helps with taking my young kids out and about.

Center console question
majastee508 replied to majastee508's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Thank you -
Swapping from buckets with full length center console and want to find a mini console before starting the swap. Are the mini consoles interchangeable between auto and manual? Will the transmission shift indicator from the full length console work with the mini?

there is a missing comma in my description unfortunately

may be able to clear a 31x10.5 with the right offset wheels. however a 30x9.50 should clear without trouble -

Awesome looking truck -
Thank you all for the added support in trying to track down a new to me Comanche. I was able to find a 92 eliminator locally and it will be a project for sure but is a running driving factory 4x4.

1987 Grand Wagoneer with factory tow package. Picked it up from an older gentleman who had it shipped to the east coast around 2014 and shoved it in a garage that was just deep enough to close the door but not work on the Jeep. Came with the California license plates still on it and the last reg sticker was 2008. He had collected quite a bit of extra parts that were stored inside the Jeep. The previous owner had started to replace the water pump and never got around to finishing the install. But it came with a new timing chain and water pump plus all the gaskets. The Jeep was originally from California and the underside it spotless. The paint and wood grain have seen far better days and a repaint is in the future for it as there isn’t enough paint left in some areas to just polish it back. I installed some cheap wood grain vinyl over the previous faded factory decals just until the paint job happens. It was sort of a sad sight at the factory ride height so a 3” lift and 31’s were on order. The interior cleaned up real well and I was able to pick the best of the door panels and misc pieces that came with it. The rear window even functions quite well.

86 BW80 with full fmf exhaust and oil injection deleted. Has stiffer suspension to handle an adult better as well. Funnest mini bike I’ve ever had. 2 stroke with a 3 spd semi auto clutch. Starts first kick every time no matter what

Recently purchased Eliminator package, factory 4x4, automatic sliding rear window, factory t-case skid still in place but no others. Has roughly 235k miles. Came with a factory roll bat but no longer has the factory bed so unsure if its the original.

Looking to install a 3.5-4.5 Lift Kit
majastee508 replied to DesertComanche86's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
there doesn't seem to be to many company's offering a full lift kit that comes with a full leaf pack. plenty of options for the front however. Hell creek is one vendor who offers new leaf springs. -
thank you. waiting for page approval

thanks @jpnjake. the white one is a 4cyl and couldnt get any other info out of the owner. the black one in evrett looks nice and clean but is also a 4cyl and 2wd so not really what I'm after. the red 91 in ct isnt currently running but looks solid underneath and is also a 2wd model. id prefer not to start with a 2wd although not out of the question for the right deal. having to grab an xj to complete the swap just adds to the overall upfront cost and additional labor. trying to hold out for a factory 4x4 for now.

ive been keeping an eye on marketplace but seeing mostly longbeds pop up locally. have a hard time getting info from some sellers as well. i sold my last mj about 2.5 years ago (regret it) that i had converted to 4x4 using a 97 xj donor. i purchased a gladiator soon after the swap and it wasnt being used so i let it go. now realizing that wasnt what i should have done with it. hopefully going to look at one tomorrow night. if all goes well ill post it up
